V'V.,,;S".T;' , •\\ 00- DEATH ^AUSESADN )VER WEEKEND We sympathize with the of two families who suffered losses of loved ones over the weekend. First to go, was husband and father, William W. (Bill) Kumpula, 41, who succumbed in Victory Memorial hospital, Waukegan, last Friday night. He had been driven there by his family, Wednesday night. Cause of death was not revealed to this reporter but he had been nursing a bad heart for more than a year and a half. Hie second fatality was Mrs. Elizabeth Ingersol, 80, one of the pioneer families of the village. It is truly ironic that both residents lived on W. Parkview. Mr. Kumpula resided at 4910 while Mrs. Ingersol called 4814 her home. Another note of irony Bill's first born child, Doreen had the happy announcement of her engagement published in last week Friday's issue of the Plaindealer. Her parents were looking forward to the coming niqptials. Services for Bill were held In Waukegan at 2 p.m. last Monday with burial in. Warren cemetery. Gurnee. Hie Rev. Herman Graef, Zion Lutheran church, McHenry, officiated at the Quiet Dale Funeral Home, Waukegan, where visitation was held on Sunday. In addition to his devoted wife Beatrice, he is also survived by Doreen and his five boys - Ronald, Gary, Alan, Kent and Dale. He also leaves his mother, Mrs. Katherine Kumpula, Laurium, Mich.; seven sisters three brothers, and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill had been employed in sausage making and as a meat cutter, most of his life. He was working as a meat cutter in Big Foot at the time of his demise. He is a Veteran of World War n, having served in the Navy. Pioneer resident of the community, Mrs. Ingersol, was pronounced dead at McHenry hospital last Saturday where she was taken after the McHenry lire department was unable to bTbf assistance. She was born in Chicago, Jan. 13, 1888, and was preceded in death by her liliilsband, Harry, in 1931. (^Services in her behalf were held at the Peter JustenandSon Funeral home, McHenry at 10 a.m. Tuesday, with burial in St. Mary's cemetery. Mourning her passing are her daughter, Mrs. Ruth Adams, McHenry; five sons - Joseph Smith, and Harry Ingersol of Chicago, and Charles, Everett and Kenneth, McCullom Lake. She also leaves her sister, Mrs. Carrie Kurth of the village, her brother, John Littlefield, sixteen grandchildren, and ten great - grandchildren, including grandchildren Corky and Ken's children - Carol, Dawn, Kevin and Heather. Our deepest sympathy to all the members of both grieving families. FUND DRIVE SUCCESSFUL A very fruitful drive for funds for the McCullom Lake Rescue Squad brought in a total of $323.80 to date, including donations given last Sunday. The money will be used to purchase equipment for the squad. Many men donated their services on to make the calls. If not visited on that day still be contacted, or mail your contribution direct to McCullom Lake Rescue Squad, 5121 Fountain lane, McHenry. To those who contributed, a most hearty thanks from a grateful committee. RESIDENT LIES IN COMA Whitey Gumm who was reported to be gravely ill, last week, in Hines Veterans hospital, has been in a coma for the last five days, according to his wife, Ruth. She came home last weekend, for the first time in 16 days, while her husband has been so ill. She has spent all that time at his bedside. Our prayers are with both of them. Whitey has endured a great deal of pain, and hopefully, he is not suffering now. Hie Gumms reside at 5216 W. West lane. VILLAGE BOARD All members of the board were present at the last meeting, held Wednesday, Dec. 4, in the beachhouse. The snow plowing contract for the winter of 168 - '69 was approved by the board. There will be no further meetings of the board until next year when they convene on Wednesay, Jan. 22 at 8 p.m. in the beachhouse. Father John Strazalka, Pastor Yes No Yes No Though I do worry, I feel there's a way to prevent it. Sometimes I antagonize people because of my actions or attitude. I know there must be a way to correct this. It seems contrary to reality, but I feel that real happiness is something apart from wealth, power, or fame. There must be a practical way of raising my family in a better world. A "yes* answer to any of these questions is definite proof of God's concern for you. God talks to man by making him "feel" and "know" of a better way of living. You feel discontent about present conditions, you sense "something better," somewhere. That's God talking to you. Listen to him. Come to church this Sunday. Read His Living Word in the Bible. This could be the chance you've been waiting for. THE CHURCH FOR ALL . . . ... ALL FOR THE CHURCH The Church it the greatest factor on earth for the building of character and good citizenship. It is a storehouse of spiritual values. Without a strong' Church, neither democracy nor civilization can survive. There are foyr sound reasons why every person should attend services regularly and support the Church. They are: (1) For his own sake. (2) For his children's sake. (3) For the sake of his community and nation. (4) For the sake of the Church itself, which needs his moral and material support. Plan to go to church regularly and read'your Bible daily. Copyright 196i Ktitttr Advertising Srrvict, Inc., Stratburg, Va. 8:11-20 SlMMSlZ?
