The play deals with the mismatched couple of divorced men, Felix and Oscar, who are as opposite as peppermint candy and castor oil. Felix, an immaculate man bent on cleaning the apartment until he has conquered the last mite of dust, drives Oscar, the biggest slob of the twentieth century, to the point of committing a dastardly crime, namely, punching Felix in the face. The merry mix-up has proven popular as both a Broadway hit and a movie success. The production, being staged to help build a scene shop in the new West campus auditorium in McHenry, features a cast of characters from the McHenry area. In the show are Don Barden, Woodstock; Ron Hawkinson, teacher in Crystal Lake; John Leighty, Linda Gladstone, Ed Beling and Allen Lyndrup, teachers at McHenry West; and Mrs. Gerri Johnson and Ed Wittrock of McHenry. " We are hoping that this production might rekindle community theatre interest in the McHenry area," said Lyndrup, who is also the director for the production. "At one time McHenry was supporting two different community theatre companies. Interest in the area seems to be at a peak at present, and there is no reason why McHenry, like so many other communities in the area, can't have good theatre presented by some of its talented residents." Pets Thai Need A Home Tickets for the Jan. 30, 31, and Feb. 1 production are availikble from McHenry high school Drama club members, and can also be purchased at the west campus from 7 to 10 p.m. on Wednesday of this week. Tickets also will be available at the door. All tickets are general admission, there will be no reserved seats. Puzzlers like these confront every motorist who finds himself eyeball to eyeball with the icy stare of Old Man Winter. " Keep your snow or regular tires at their proper inflation, and you'll go better on the slippery stuff than by letting some of the air out," say McHenry Goodyear dealers.
