DEWANE STUDIO PHOT CIRCUS TRIP Wonder Lake residents and business firms have done their part to help Chicago Shriners help others. Local Shriner Jim Rachel, representing Northwest Shrine club, made arrangements for 100 Wonder Lakers to leave Nativity Lutheran church via two chartered buses at 4:30 Wednesday, March 5, to attend the annual Medinah Temple Shrine circus. A good time was had by all. of officers and new officers will be elected. Installation of officers will be held in April. Plans for attending the N.C.S.F. Diocesean association conference to be held at Sterling April 13 will be made. A luncheon-fashion show will be held on Wednesday, March 19, at the McHenry Country club, sponsored by the Woman's club of Wonder Lake. Partial proceed's of the fashion show will go into the scholarship fund. The fund was started with a portion of the procees from the "Sands of Polynesia" dinner-dance, on sors Revue which was held in November of 1968. Genevieve's of McHenry will present a complete line of women's fashions for spring. Gloria Coughlin will narrate the program. There will be a preview of Easter fashions. Tickets can be obtained from any member of the Woman's club of Wonder Lake. GOP Women To Attend Welcome For Mrs. Nixon A White House welcome from Mrs. Richard M. Nixon is among the scheduled activities for Illinois women attending the seventeenth annual Republican Women's conference in Washington D.C. April 14 to 17. Mrs. Brooks McCormick, national committeewoman, and Mrs. Richard C. Reed, conference chairman, will lead Illinois' delegation "ForwardTogether" to this gathering, which is open to all Republican women in the nation. A full schedule of activities has been planned ranging from the supper gala the opening night of conference registration to workshop and general sessions to be held during the daytime, lunch with Senate and Congressional leaders, state gettogethers, and a "Grand Old Party Banquet". The supper gala to be held McHenry Girls Enter Cherry Pie Contest Two McHenry high schools will be represented by students in the Northwest division competition of the Penny Flame home economics awards program. Annette Haines of McHenry high school East campus and Terri Karsten of McHenry high school West will meet with other contestants on March 22 in Crystal Lake. Both girls are entered on the senior level of the program and seek college scholarships of $1,000 or $300. They will be required to prepare a food project - a cherry pie - as well as write a 20-minute quiz on principles of home economics. Two seniors and a junior will be selected at the division contest to advance to the final competition scheduled for April. Annette Haines, 15, is a sophomore student of Miss Janis Cramer.
