MUSEUM EXHIBIT DESIGNED FOR BLIND PERSONS An exhibit designed to more clearly familiarize blind persons with America's space program is now on display at Chicago's Museum of Science and Industry. It will remain there through May 12. Entitled "Enlightenment for the Blind," its museum showing is sponsored by the Chicago Lighthouse' for the Blind. The exhibit, open only to blind or partially sighted people and persons accompanying them, has been made available by the Naional Aeronautics' and Space. Administration. It consists of five units, in which visitors have an opportunity to freely examine thirtyfive various scale models, relief maps and diagrams, while recorded narration explains the space program. Waukegan road, at 7:30 p.m. This 22-minute movie will be released for rental by schools and civic organizations in October. After the movie, Dale Sprouse, manufacturing manager of General Time Corp., shall present a short explanation of high reliability factors in manned space flights. Park View, McHenry, is serving his twoweek annual active duty with the Naval Air Reserve at the U.S. Naval Air station, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. His unit, Attack Squadron 8VI, is normally based at the Naval Air station, Glenview. During the rest of the year, squadron members meet one weekend a month to maintain their proficiency. Belshaw, Republican Candidate for township Assessor, recently completed the basic and advanced courses offered by the Illinois Property Assessment Institute. Mr. Belshaw participated in the Institute's eleventh annual workshop held March 3 through 5 in Peoria The three-day workshop offers instruction in the most modern assessment techniques. The courses run the gamut from assessing "urban lands to assessing practices for farm real estate, from evaluating rural personal property to assessment of commercial personal property. Even a course on the value of Illinois forest lands is included in the programs. Participation in the course and passing the required examiniation has earned Mr. Bel- - saw a diploma. The diploma bestows the designation of CIAO, Certified Illinois Assessing Officer, on Mr. Belshaw. ENDORSE SLATE The McHenry County YRs held their March meeting in McHenry Wednesday evening. In the absence of Chairman Patrick Sharpe, Wm. Fandre, TO vice-chairman conducted the meeting. Chairman Sharpe is the guest of Congressman Mc- C'lory in Washington for a National YR conference. The March meeting was "Candidate Night". The usual agenda was put aside to devote the evening to th£ candidates. Each candidate was given a chance to speak, after which an informal question and answer period was held. The McHenry County Young Republicans voted by all present to endorse the Republican slate for township offices. The slate was chosen earlier in an open Republican caucus. WED.
