Couple Wed In St. John s Catholic Church St. John the Baptist Catholic church in Johnsburg was the setting for a beautiful early spring wedding on Saturday, April 12, when Miss Roberta Ann Lindblom became the bride of Mr. Kenneth Michael Schaefer. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert G. Lindblom of 728 S. Arlington Heights road Arlington Heights, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Schaefer of 2411 W. Church street, McHenry. Rev. Fr. DordifllpOfficiated at' the 3 o'clock nuptial high Mass and double ring ceremony. Soloist was Mrs. Ed Haswell, who sang "The Lord*s Prayer" and "On This Day O Beautiful Mother". Bouquets of white gladioli with a touch of pink decorated the altar. Miss Lindblom, given in mar- - riage by her father, was radiant in a bridal gown of white organza fashioned with embroidered sleeves trimmed with white daisies and the same trimming at the bottom of the dress and train. The dress had OES Advance Night Held Visitors and members of McHenry Chapter, No. 547, Order of the Eastern Star, enjoyed one of their special meetings of the year on Tuesday, April 8. Current associate matrons, conductresses and associate conductress' from neighboring chapters, as well as members of this chapter, served as officers. and guests for the Advance Night. Following the meeting, tasty refreshments were served during the social hour, prepared by Brenda Mueller, Chairman, and her refresment committee. New Officers Of Wonder Lake Club Installed The Wonder Lake Garden club held its April meeting at the home of Roxanna Vltavsky last Thursday. Members in attendance were Mesdames Elsie Hoppe, Elsie Ottoson, Gretchen Pose, Maybelle Nelson, Betty Fiala, Rita Graff, Ruth Kinzie, Vi Kopp and Roxanna Vltavsky. Guests for the evening were Mrs. Alice Condron and Mrs. Bfobbi Fiali. After reading the minutes and treasurer's report, annual reports were given by each officer and committee chairman. Following new officers were installed in a lovely ceremony in which each officer was pinned with an orchid. The ceremony was read by Vi Kopp, who was assisted by Elsie Hoppe. The membership passed a motion to receive Betti Fiali into the club. May 1 at 8 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Vltavsky was set for the club to finalize plans for their plant and white elephant sale to be held on Saturday, May'24. All of the attendants wore lime green, floor length dresses with avocado trim. They were designed with empire waistlines and long sleeves in chiffon over linen. Each had a lime green matching veil heacfciece and carried a colonial nosegay of pink roses, pink and white carnations and yellow daisies. Larry Schaefer, brother«of the groom, who has beerf'siH'- ving with the Air Force in Germany, served as best man. Groomsmen were Thomas Lindblom of Peoria and Jack Lindblom of Arlington Heights, brothers of the bride, and Kenneth May of Richmond. Ushers were Anthony Schaefer and Ted Schaefer of McHenry, brothers of the groom. Mrs. Lindblom selected a lime green dress, matching shoes and a white rose corsage. Mrs. Schaefer was attired in a pink dress, matching shoes and white rose corsage. A wedding reception for 375 guests, was held at the Johnsburg Community club. Miss Susan Schaefer, niece of the groom, was in charge of the guest book. After a trip to the western states, the newlyweds will reside at 16 East Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights. The bride is a 1964 graduate of Richmond Burton high school and a 1968 graduate of Bradley university, Peoria. She is survey analyst for Quaker Oats, Barrington. The bridegroom graduated in 1961 from Marian Central high school and attended Chicago Technical college. He is a draftsman for Fugard, Orth & Associates, Chicago. FRI. APRIL 18, 1969 - PLAINDEALER - PG. 3 Forecast '69 Models Named Members chosen to model in the annual fashion show were announced at the quarterly meeting and tea Tuesday of the Woman's auxiliary to the McHenry hospital. New bylaws were adopted and Mrs. Josephine Peterson, assistant adminstrator in charge of nursing services, discussed new concepts in hospital design and how they may be used in McHenry. For the fashion "show, FORECAST '69, sixteen members plus a representative of the Candy Stripers will model. The event on April 30 will be at Benefit Dance To Aid Spring Grove School The Spring Grove elementary school P.T.A. has set Friday, April 25, as the date fpr • the spring dance. The event will be held at the Fox Lake Country club starting at 8:30 p.m. P.T.A. members, under the direction of Chairman Charlie Jones, are busy selling dance tickets. Proceeds from the dance will be used for playground improvement at the grade school. The P.T.A., ata recent meeting, voted to give to the school six card tables for use in the school cafeteria, $200 for library books, $135 for indoor and outdoor play equipment and $25 for new basketballs for the grade school team. The P.T.A. had earned this money from their Friday evening card parties, another of which will be held this Friday, April 18, starting at 8 p.m. in the school cafeteria. Martinetti's in Crystal Lake, with a social hour at 11, and luncheon 11:45. Ticket information can be obtained by calling fashion show co-chairman, Mrs. August M. Rossetti, in McHenry. All seats are reserved and reservations close April 23. Models include Mrs. Robert Stanell, Mrs. Charles Spencer, Mrs. Nicholas Gemell, Mrs. Lawrence L. FOUR FROM AREA ON CARBON DALE DEAN'S LIST A total of 2,170 undergraduates of Southern Illinois university at Carbondale have been posted to the dean's list for outstanding academic achievement during the winter quarter. Home avenue, and Gemma Menconi of San Francisco, Calif., were reunited with their brother, Louis' Celoni, of Luca, Italy, after a separation of fifty years-. Mr. and Mrs. Celoni flew from Rome to New York, which takes only thirteen hours, and then on to CP Hare airport before coming to McHenry to visit with the Mazzonis for a week. They will spencf more time with their son, Juilano, in Chicago before returning to their home in Colunion which reunited three members of the family after a fiftyyear separation. Italia was twenty-two when she left Italy in 1919 to come to America, where she stayed with her sister, Gemma, and her husband, Anthony Menconi, in Chicago. In 1920 she married Louis Mazzoni and they settled in Chicago, where they raised their two children, Mrs. Leonard Bottari, 1621 N. Pleasant, McHenry, and Louis, Jr., of Riverdale. They have six grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Mazzoni moved to McHenry 4V2 years ago. Gemma returned to Italy in 1924 and during World War II she served as an interpretor for the U.S. Army. In 1948 she returned to the United States and is now living in San Francisco. She had two children, Dino who is deceased and Mrs. Rena Rossi, San Francisco. Mrs. Menconi is the grandmother of six and also the great-grandmother of nine. Louis, who was a boy of fourteen when Italia came to the United States, has two children in Italy besides his son in Chicago. The Celonis have three grandchildren. He and his wife, who speak only Italian, are enjoying their visit and are hoping for another reunion in Italy in the near future. President Eisenhower was born farther west and farther south than any other President -- at Denison, Texas. GOODWILL VISIT Goodwill Industries is unlike " other agencies collecting discards, because it is devoted entirely to the service of handicapped men and women, according to Mrs. Nick (Agnes- T.) Adams, local Goodwill representative. Mrs. Adams announced that the Goodwill truck will be in McHenry, Friday, April 25, to collect repairable clothing and other housewares to be used in the occupational training centers.
