MASONIC MEDICAL CENTER HONORS GUY HENDERSON Two new members were elected to the board of trustees of Illinois Masonic Medical center at its annual meeting Monday evening in Medinah Temple, Robert S. Solinsky, honorary chairman of the board, National Can corporation, and James E. Antonidis, president of Falcon Enigineering and Tool company. VIOLATE LAW Illinois livestock owners are urged by John W. Lewis,, director of the state Department of Agriculture, to properly dispose Of their dead animals to avoid prosecution for violation of state laws. "Our division of meat, poultry and livestock has received numerous complaints of dead animals lying around in various sections of the state," Lewis said. Understate law, it is the responsibility of the owners of dead animals to dispose of them within 24 hours. after death. Failure to do so can result in a fine of not less than $50 nor more than $500 or imprisonment in the county jail for not more than 30 days. RICHARD LANE Richard Lane of Kenosha, Wis., has joined the McHenry State Bank, his duties to assist in the Loan department. He comes to McHenri/' with nine years' experience as an employee of the Keno&h^ National Bank, which he served as auditor and loan officer. Mr. Lane attended the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, served on the board of directors of the Mi lwakee chapter of the American Institute of Banking, past president of the Kenosha Jaycees and on the board of directors of the Kenosha County Blood Bank. Presently, he resides at 3714 87th street, Kenosha, with his wife, Janice, and three children, but will locate in McHenry when suitable housing is obtained. ASK RATE CHANGE Northern Illinois Gas .cor^ pariy has announced that it has requested Illinois Commerce con-mission approval for changes in the company's rate schedules. C.J. Gauthier, NIGas executive vice-president, said the result would be a net revenue decrease of approximately $27,000 per year. Gauthier explained that the proposal will affect three .groups of NI-Gas customers. A $158,000 per year reduction fgr low-usage residential and commercial customers will result from lowering of gross charges -- the charge which applies to bills paid aftesJthe duedate. A further savings of about $56,000 annually will be gained by commercial customers using gas for air conditioning. The third revision would increase the minimum charge from $1 to $1.35 per month for residential customers who do not use gas for either hot water "heating or space heating. The effect of this proposal would be an estimated $187,000 annual offset to the $214,000 in annual reductions." The proposal asks that the rate changes become effective May 15, 1969. SALES CARAVAN Northern Illinois Realty Service, Inc., was represented by six members of the corporation at the annual Sales Caravan sponsored by the Illinois Association of Real Estate Boards held April 14 through 18 in locations all over the state. Members attending the April 15 session held at the CP Hare Inn in Des Plaines were. Mrs. Jennie McDerfnott, Jack Kramer and Don Schutt of the McHenry office. Sam is a member of the McHenry county board of realtors. Kiwanis News WONDER LAKE CLUB The Wonder Lake club took the travelling gavel to McHenry last week, with President Ward Ehredt heading a delegation of eight Kiwanians. Also in attendance was Lt. Gov. Joe Bussone and five club members from Sycamore. Arnfinn Stokkan, exchange student from Norway who is spending the year attending MTHS, was the guest speaker at Wonder Lake's evening meeting. After a fifteen-minute talk, the club kept Arnfinn busy answering questions on both his observations here and about Norway. So fine were the young man's observations that all Kiwanians came away with a better understanding of Norway and their . own high school generation.
