Twenty-eight husbandand- wife couples played in the monthly bridge College Choir Will Present Spring Concert The McHenry County college choir will present a concert of music appropriate to the season on Sunday, May 25 at 2:30 p.m. in the College union of the interim campus in Crystal Lake. The concert will feature small vocal ensembles drawn from the membership of the choir as well as the whole choir in music of spring and summer. PG. 2 - PLAINDEALER FRI. MAY 23, 1969 MissVacula Is May Bride Miss Cheryl Barbara Vacula was a pretty bride on Saturday, May 17, when she walked up the ais^e of Christ the King Catholic church, Wonder Lake, to meet her bridegroom, Mr. John A. Kuchinski. Miss Vacula is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul J. Vacula of 4420 E. Wonder Lake road, Wonder Lake, and Mr. Kuchinski is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Kuchinski of 902 S. Second street, St. Charles. The Concelebrated Mass was officiated by Fr. Conro of Wonder Lake, Father Heraty of St. Charles and Fr. Reilman of .Clinton, Iowa. ^ The altar was decorated with white pomp daisies, glads and baby's breath.. Miss Vacula wore a floor ; length, white silk organza . dress. It was styled with bell sleeves, eyelet flowers around scalloped sleeves and bottom of the dress and applique of flowers around the empire waist, on the white satin sash. She wore a spray of stiff organza flowers with pearls in her hair, with long silk illusion veil that fell into a train. Miss Vacula carried a nosegay of lilies of the valley and white pearl rosary, the latter a gift of the groom. Attending the bride were Miss Lori Vacula of Wonder Lake, a cousin, as maid of honor, Miss Roberta Adolf of Berwyn, a cousin, Miss Martha Real of Chicago and Mrs. Carol Jean Smith of McHenry. They wore floor length, yellow organza dresses with sheer organza, long sleeves, empire waist and "A" line skirt and large bow in back. They were trimmed around the collars and down the bodice and skirt and around sleeves with white daisies. Each wore a high crown hat of yellow with full blusher veil. Miss Jane Vacula of McHenry, a niece, acted as flower girl', wearing similar attire. All carried yellow baskets with white pomp daisies and baby's breath. Pat Foley of Harvey, 111., served as best man and groomsmen were Chuck Kuchinski of St. Charles, brother of the groom, Ronald Vacula of Mc- Henjy, brother of the bride, and Dave Judd of St. Charles. Mrs. Vacula selected a mint green, silk shantung dress with matching coat and white orchid corsage. Mrs. Kuchinski wore a.light blue shantung dress with white accessories and a white orchid corsage. Following a reception held for 150 guests at Martinetti's in Crystal Lake at 5:30, the newlyweds left on a wadding trip to Canada. They will reside at 1991 Lilac lane, Aurora. The bride, a 1962 graduate of McHenry high school, attended Loyola university in Chicago and is a graduate of St. Anthony's School of Nursing, Rock Island. She is a registered nurse employed at St. Joseph's hospital, Chicago. The groom graduaced in 1962 from Marmion academy, Aurora, and in 1966 from St. Ambrose college, Davenport, Iowa. Now a case worker for Children and Family Services in Aurora, he will attend St. LOJ'S university in Septemv.'3r to work for his Master's degree in Social work. program, fourth year for the gatherings. Duets will be performed by Emma Fritz, soprano, and Leanne Pollock, mezzo soprano, as well as Marie Ann Vos, soprano and Wesley M Vos, tenor. 4 The choir is under the direction of Marie Ann Vos and will be accompanied by Diane Koenig of Crystal Lake. PLAINDEALER PHOTO Variety Of Events Await Senior Citizens Club Following the business meeting of the McHenry Senior Citizens club last week, Mrs. Russell, a member of the Herrin, 111., Senior Citizens club, was introduced and she told about their club and invited local members to visit the Herrin club whenever in the vicinity. A very fitting tribute to mothers was given by Betty Sortnenberg in honor of Mother's Day. The program was then turned over to Roland Grayson, Program chairman, who introduced Leo Krumme, who gave a little resume on his daughter Sandra Krumme's background and services with the American Red Cross recreational program in Vietnam. Sandra then showed slides and gave a fine talk on her personal experiences, which members found very interesting and informative. They enjoyed the opportunity of getting acquainted with Sandra and visiting with her during the social hour. The meeting of Monday, May 26, will be a card party for members, with table prizes to be awarded the winners. An added attraction will be the first concert and public appearance of the Senior Citizens club kitchen band. Here is a chance for a fine evening of card playing, bunco, or just visiting with friends, and listening to the kitchen band concert. 1 June 9 is the date of the smorgasbord dinner. Mrs. Frank Giel is in charge of the tickets and can be reached at 497-3646. Tickets will also be available at the May 26 meeting. The deadline for ticket sales will be May 29 and no tickets can be sold after that date, so get your reservations in promptly. If you are unable to attend the smorgasbord dinner, the club meeting will start at 7:30 p.m. The Men's Garden club will have a meeting on Saturday, June 7, at 3:30 p.m. an outdoor gathering at the Lester Hanson yard at 1608 North Flower street. Square Dance Group Seeks New Members The square dance group of the McHenry Senior Citizens club meet every Thursday evening at the East campus cafeteria, under the direction and calling of Alf Heggeland. Alf Heggeland and his wife, Mary, have been in the square dancing for many years, and both are avid fans. They have taught many the fine art of square dancing, and are really enjoying working with the club, to which they belong. The judging will be by Mr. Wagner, who is an accredited judge of the Garden Club of America. Now is the time to get those "green thumbs" working for the August exhibit!
