Gilbert's school in Grayslake that day. & Mrs. Robert Conway and daughter, Mrs. William VVeyland, were recent luncheon guests in the George Adams horhe in Elgin where they en-' joyed a visit with the former's sister-in-law, Sister Mary St. Hilda, of Dubuque, Iowa. Sister was a guest in the home of her niece, Mrs." John Whalen, where she had c.ome to attend the graduation of the Whalens' daughter, Patrice, from St. Edward high school. On Monday evening Mrs. Conway attended a party at the home of her brother, John Blenner, in Woodstock honoring :theiP daughter, Kathryn, a graduate of the Woodstock grade school. Mr. and Mrs. M.L." Schoenholtz were visitors in the Gerald Schoenholtz home in Milwaukee Thursday. The former's mother, Mrs. Edna Leonhart, returned home with them for an extended visit. 1 Miss Helen Schneider of Chicago spent Wednesday of last week in the Leo Thompson home. Phillip and JohnThennes visited old friends in the vicinity of Grafton, Wis., last week. Messrs. and Mesdames William Althoff, Carl J. Freund,,,. Bernard N. Smith and Fred Smith have returned from a nine days fishing trip to Lake St. Germaine, Wis. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Huff of Whitewater, Wis., spent a few days last week visiting McHenry relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. John R. Schmitt, ; Mrs. Elizabeth Michels and ; Mrs.. Rose Muska motored to - Belleville last week where they ~ - visited Our Lady of the Snows "-and then went on to St. -Louis to spend a few days with their brother, Martin Schmitt. Mrs. Leo Thompson motored to Champaign Tuesday of last week to bring her daughter, Sue, who had just completed her sophomore year, home for the summer. Scoutmaster John Doherty inducted Daniel Doherty, Michael Wines, Martin Van Kanegan and Kevin Coughlin into the troop as tenderfoots. Second Class awards were presented to Tom Lindgren, Matt Schuster, Mike Bird, Kevin Neilsen, Alfred Gerich, and Kendall Street. \ William Dicker, Mike Jones and Steve Borta were presented with their First class awards. James McMillan received his Star award and the life award was presented to David Betts. William Dicker was given the Scribe warrant badge, Kendall Street the Quartermaster warrant, Scott Topp received the bugler patch and 2 year pin, Mark Schuster was presented the instructor warrant arid David Betts the instructor badges. Merit badges were given to Mike Bird, Mark Ehredt and Mark Schuster. James McMillan was presented his certificate for heroism granted by the National Court of Honor of the Boy Scouts. Jerry Palko, assistant scoutmaster and Jiob Betts committeeman assisted Mr. Doherty in the Court of Honor. Plans were made for the week at Camp Lowden. Main, McHenry 385-0294 SOCIAL SECURITY URGES REPORT OF ADDRESS CHANGES Residents of the Lake and McHenry County area, Who are receiving monTfily social security checks, are reminded by Bernard Barnett, social security manager in Waukegan, to report directly to the Waukegan office, any change of address or other events affecting continued receipt of thetf^checks. Reports may be made Tby mail (you may use the back of your check envelope lor this), phone, or in person. Appropriate report forms are available at the Waukegan office. Barnett said this reporting , method enables the district office to take advantage of the increased capacity of its high speed communications circuits to transmit information to record centers. Until recently, social security beneficiaries were encouraged to notify the Social Security Administration about the occurrtnce of these events by mailing,pre-addressed postcard forms to a record center. Events that affect receipt of monthly social security checks, in addition to address changes, are starting or stopping work (employment), marriage or remarriage in some instances, divorce, and death. Political Corner TEfLS CANDIDACY Maxine Wymore of Hampshire is the first woman in the 33rd Senatorial district tp announce her intention to become a delegate candidate in the Illinois constitutional convention primary election. Mrs. Wymore is a graduate of Northern Illinois university, a former school teacher, secretary and radio announcer. STE^E BLAKE . GRADUATES -- Steve Blake, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert S. Blake of McHenry, was graduated at commencement exercises held at Bradley university Sunday, June 1. He received his Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in physics. CARBOND*LE LISTS THREE AREA GRADUATES A centennial year graduating class numbering some 2,900 students were awarded degrees Wednesday, June 11, at Southern Illinois university at Carbondale. Commencement exercises were conducted in two ceremonies at the SIU Arena on the Carbondale campus. SIU President Delyte W. Morris delivered brief remarks to the graduates but there was no formal commencement address as such. McHenry members of the graduating class included Robert Beckenbaugh, 3904 W. Oak, MA degree; Marian Stange Kotner, 504 Mineral Springs, BS degree; and Robert Zaboth, 1010 Hayden drive, As. T (associate in technology) degree.
