The 460-acre grounds range from tilled fields to wooded, hilly uplands, wet bottomlands and areas set aside for wildlife development. A McHenry county organization that has played host to people from all over the world is now inviting the public to come and spend the day on its 460-acre grounds on June 29. All McHenry county residents are welcomed to an open house to be held at Pleasant Valley form on that date, from 1 until dark. In the words of the Farm's director, Jim Mason, "We have had Japanese public health officials visit us. We have entertained local science teachers and school administrators; Dutch theologians; exchange students from Australia and the Congo. Eight different countries were represented on our staff in just one summer. Now we would like all the families of McHenry county who can do so, to drop in and have a look at what we're doing, and have a good time while here. There will be refreshments, and plenty of fun for the kids." The program for the day offers something for everyone: Organized games and relay races for the children; a fishing contest for young and old alike (fishermen are requested to bring their own poles); bird and nature hikes for natural- history enthusiasts; drama skits, and music by vocal and instrumental groups for entertainment; And finally, a family picnic on the grounds. Though light refresments will be served to all comers, visitors are urged to bring their own picnic lunch, blanket, folding chairs, etc., as they would for an outdoor meal anywhere. Pleasant Valley Farm is lpcated in Dorr and Grafton townships, west of Highway 47 and south of 176. It may be reached by access roads from both highways, and these will be marked with road signs the day of the open house. The Farm is owned and operated by the Community Renewal society-an interfaith organization with roots dating back to 1881. Its main use now is as a year-around camp and educational center for people of all ethnic, religious and economic backgrounds. It is staffed by a small resident community and shares its management with campers, volunteers and other participants who SHOP IN McHENRY Ceramic Wall Tile sq. ft. 1" X 1" CERAMIC Vinyl Asbestos Floor Tile 1/16" 12X12" sq. »19t SPECIAL Solid Vinyl Tib sq. ft. 24( Kadisak Tile & Supply 5002 W.
