NICHOLAS HEDGE KOTALIK STUDIO PHOTO Mary Pence Lovely Bride The United Methodist church of Rlngwood was the setting for a beautiflil wedding on Saturday, June 7, at 2 o'clock when Miss Mary Louise Pence, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John A. Pence of 113 Koa street, McHenry, becameujthe bride of Mr. Nicholas H. Hedge, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Hedge of Milbourne place, Spring Grove. Rev. Parker, assisted by Rev. Walker of Spring Grove, officiated at the afternoon nuptial rite. Mrs. Frank Harrison, as organist, accompanied Mrs. Russell Gardiner, who sang "O Promise Me" and "0 Perfect Love**. Miss Pence was radiant in a floor length gown of white chantilly type lace accented with iridescent sequins. The bodice was fashioned with scalloped neckline and long, lace sleeves princess line front and back fullness. Her chapel length train fell from a crown of aurora borealis with imported illusion bouffant veil. Sharon Hauri of Wauconda acted as maid of honor and bridesmaids were Debbie Pedersen of Grayslake and Peggy Neal of Woodstock, sister of the groom. . They were attired similarly in floor length gowns of pink, aqua and Nile green chiffon with matching 3-D lace. The bodice was fashioned with oval neckline and short sleeves and the slim skirt had back fullness. Each had a matching headpiece of tulle petals with butterfly veils. Douglas Hess of Solon Mills served as best man and ushers . were the bride's brother, John . C. Pence, of Wauconda and the groom's brother-in-law, John Neal, of Woodstock. Mrs. Pence selected an orange acetate shift with white accessories and orchid corsage. Mrs. Hedge wore a blue chiffon dress with lace bodice, white accessories and orchid corsage. A reception for 125 guests followed the ceremony, held at the Legion hall, Fox Lake. Later, the newlyweds left on a trip through the Ozarks, Missouri and Arkansas. Mr. and Mrs. Noonan have lived their entire married life in McHenry. They exchanged nuptial vows June 7, 1919, in St. Ita church, Chicago. The Noonans have long been' active in the business life of the community. Mrs. Noonan has operated a beauty parlor in the city for forty years. Her husband is a retired tavern keeper. Assisting with plans for the anniversary party were their three children, twins, Allen, Jr., and Anthony, and a daughter, Mary Ann Pyles.
