The car's driver, Mi­ chael J. Shanahan, Main street, McHenry,. with his passenger, Father Eugene Baumhofer, St. Mary's, 1403 N.Richmond road, McHenry, was turning right at the intersection from the right hand lane of the road. Frank L. Nemec, Rt. 2, Box 87, Hillsboro, Wis., was turn­ ing his truck right from the middle of the road. Unable to see the car in front of him, Nemec bumped into the Shanahan ve­ hicle. To entertain the older group later that same night at the city park, a big band will play the music to soothe their mus­ ical appetite. The Wonder Lake Square Dance Group on Friday night at 8:30 p.m. July 18 will liven up the city park with the as­ sistance of three profession­ al callers. They have invited many square dance groups in Northern Illinois to participate in the evening's fun. A large crowd is expected and all of the public is asked to join in the square dancing that night. Whether you are experienced in the art or not make sure you get out on-ihe floor and join in sqtiare dancing. As ususal the entertainment and evening is free. The McHenry Chamber of Commerce hopes that all en­ joy themselves on family night, square dance night and all of the other thing® h*»iwr sponsored by the Chamber. BRIDGE CONTRACT At a cost of $113,947, a bridge over Lily Lake drain will be constructed by the Shappert En­ gineering company. Shappert received the contract as a of the state's 1969 road pro­ gram. Over $2,700,000 in con­ tracts were given out by Ill­ inois Public Works director William F.- Cellini by July 2. DATED, REGISTRATIONS ACCEPTED FOR DAY CAMP PERIOD The Lake Region YMCA is continuing to accept registra­ tions for the two remaining per­ iods of day camp for youth, ages 7-14. The camp periods are July 21 ttr^August 1 and August 4 to August 15. One of the many features of the day camp program enjoyed by campers is the weekly cook- outs held on Thursday at the camp site in the Woodstock City Park. During the first period of day camp, the menu included Coney Island dogs, sloppy joes, lettuce wedges, fruit salad, pork and beans, chocolate a* mores, and doughboys and milk. Camp­ ers participate in the prepar­ ation of the food which is cooked over open fires in one pot, under the guidance of the camp staff. Broman, 315 Draper road, McHenry, has been named to the Dean's list of Bradley University for the second semester of the 1968- 1969 school year. The small Un­ iversity in Peoria had 406 stu­ dents qualify for the honor roll. Qualification for the list is based on academic achievement with a minimum grade point av­ erage for the semester of 7.0, the equivalent of an A-minus, on a perfect 8.0 scale. Sixty-nine students made a straight A, 8.0, average. TAKEN,TO HOSPITAL Lucy Gnadt, 300 Cherry drive, Wonderview, Wonder Lake, suffered a stroke on July 4. The 77 year-old woman was visiting her daughter's home at 7002 Beach drive, Wonder Lake. Both McHenry County She riffs deputies and the Wonder Lake fire department arrived to give her emergency treatment.
