Open Vacation Bible School At City Church The annual Vacation Bible School of the Alliance Bible church, 3813 W. John street, McHenry, will be field for two weeks, beginning Aug. 4. A rec­ ord attendance of pupils is ex­ pected exceeding last year's registration of 120. Teachers and helpers have been many weeks in preparation for this year's activities. This year's VBS will be held between the hours of 1 and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. The theme is , "The God I Love," and will feature Christ- centered, Bible-based mes­ sages on the need for a per­ sonal Saviour in daily life. Chil­ dren and young people from the age of 3 and older are in­ vited to attend. The daily ses­ sions will also include hand­ craft, Missionary stories, Bi­ ble stories, recreation and re­ freshments. The pastor of the church, the Reverend Gerald L. Rob­ ertson, will be supervising the school. "Last year's school was an outstanding success, but with the increased number of helpers as well as the evident community interest we are an­ ticipating an even greater re­ sponse this year," the pastor states. He continues by saying, "no child in the community should be without the opportun­ ity of spiritual growth provided by the Vacation Bible school." Along with adult teachers par­ ticipating will be many local high school students. Among these will be Sue Dresdow, Pam Morris and Chrys Christensen working with the nursery age children; Cliff Morris and San­ dy Sveen working with begin­ ners; Karen Jaschke and Mar­ shal Hansen working with pri­ maries; Larry Dresdow and Glenn Hansen working with jun­ iors. Other young people will be assisting with crafts and reg­ istrations. Adult teachers in­ clude Mrs. Sharon Nolan, Miss Maude Campbel, Mrs. Alita Robertson, Mrs. Hannah Braun, Mrs. Lois Dresdow, Mrs. E. Antonson, Mrs. JoanApel, Mrs. Ginny Spirk, Mrs. Evelyn Bier- us, Mrs. Marge Hansen, Mrs. uth Sveen and Mrs. Monica Morris. Others will be helping with recreation and refresh­ ments.
