Registrations for the trip may be completed at the Lake Re-! gion YMCA, 95 Qrant street, Crystal Lake. t COUNTY FAIR AT WILMOT OPENS THIS THURSDAY Kenosha county's forty-ninth I annual fair opens this week, ' Thursday, Aug. 7, for a four- day run at the Wilmot fair­ grounds, ending Sunday night. Ranking fourth in the top ten fairs in Wisconsin, the Wilmot exposition is held on a vast expanse of the 9.0 acres available to the 4-H and open class exhibits, the industrial and commercial exhibits, a lar­ ge midway and parking facili­ ties that are expanded and im­ proved each year. Exhibitors from Wisconsin and neighboring states will dis­ play their best blue ribbon poultry, sheep, swine, dairy and beef cattle, flowers and vegetables. Also attracting visitors from a wide area will be the 4-H livestock sale at the livestock judging arena on Friday, Aug. 8, at 3:45 p.m. Thursday, opening night, will see the crowning of the Ken­ osha County Fair Queen at 9:30 p.m. Earlier, at 7 p.m., the talent contest will take place on the free acts stand and the grandstand attraction will be stock car racing both Thurs­ day and Saturday nights. In addition, the fair will fea­ ture tractor pulling, horse pul­ ling and 4-H tractor operators' contests, baton twirling, par­ ades, water fights, concerts and dress revues. APPRECIATION MONTH Gov. Richard B. Ogilvie, in conjunction with the Chicago chapter of the American Insti- tue of Architects, has proclaim­ ed July Architectural Apprec­ iation Month in Illinois. The Chicago group is marking its 100th anniversary this year.
