McHenry Man Wed Saturday To Mundelein Girl St. Francis church, Lake Zu- ' rich, was the setting for a beau tiful summer wedding on Satur day, August 23. United in mar riage were Miss Rita Keller of 528 McKinley, Mundelein, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jo seph Keller of Hillside, 111., and Mr. Alex Shustitzky, Jr., son of the senior Shustitzkys of Griswold Lake, McHenry. Rev. Fr. Firnbach officiated at the 2 o'clock nuptial rite. The church altar was decorat ed with bouquets of white dais ies and pink carnations. Miss Keller was radiant in a gown fashioned with mini-yoke of cotton Venice daisy lace with "full organza cage over an at tached taffeta skimmer accent ed by scattered daisies over the entire dress and on the attach able watteau train. Her illusion veil was held by a forward dai sy cluster. Barb Kienzle of Deerfield ac ted as maidof honor and brides maids were Susan Shustitzky of McHenry, a sister of the groom, and Linda Harding of Lake Zurich. They wore sle eveless skimmers of pink faille with roll collar accented by appliqued cotton lace daisies. The same type applique decora ted the watteau trains. Their blusher veils were held by loop and flower clusters of matching fabric. Gerry Rodenkirk of McHenry served as best man and the groomsmen were Joseph Keller of McHenry, the bride's broth er, and John Shustitzky of La- Grange, his cousin. Mrs. Keller selected a blue linen dress with coat, while Mrs. Shustitzky wore a pink dress. A reception for 130 guests followed at Rimas lodge, after which the couple left for San Diego, Calif., for a week. They will make their home at 528 McKinley avenue, Mundelein. The bride attended Lake Zur ich high school for three years and graduated from McHenry high school in 1967. In July of this year she graduated from the Mueller School of Beauty Culture and is a beautician. Mr. Shustitzky is a 1967 grad uate of McHenry high school and a 1969 graduate of Devry Technical school, Chicago. He is a ramp service man for Unit ed Airlines. Candidates' Night In Plans Of GOP Women * The McHenry Township Rep ublican Women's club held its first meeting of the '69-70 sea son last week. The attending members left with renewed en thusiasm. Their slogan for the coming year is "Each one teach one to become a good Repub lican." With the congressional, sena torial and county elections next Spring, plans were made to have a number of candidates' nights to give the voters a chance to meet and question men and wo men who are applying to the public for a position. The"club reminds that no corporation would think of hiring a person without an interview, yet as vo ters, many vote for people they have never met! Nominating and audit commit tees were appointed. Plans were made for the fall membership drive. Mrs. A1 (Carrie) Jour- dan, wife of the county chair man, has accepted the chair manship. Her co-workers are Mrs. Henry (Clara) Nell, Mrs. Jake (Eve) Levesque, Mrs. Grant (Gerry) Ernst and Mrs. Jacob (Connie) Johnson. Mrs. Walter (Ginny) Ulick is in charge of decorations. The girls promise an exciting event. The forthcoming Con Con election was discussed, with background given on each of the twelve candidates in the 32nd district. President Connie Johnson also stressed the im portance of this election. She said, "It can be a very good MRS. JOSEPH P. CONDON St. Mary's Setting For August Rite Miss Susan L. Pawlikowski made a charming picture when she approached the altar of St. Mary's Catholic church last Saturday, attired in a floor length bridal dress to meet her husband-to-be, Mr. Joseph P. Condon. Rev. Fr. Eugene Baum- hofer, pastor, united the couple in marriage in an 11 o'clock morning nuptial rite. James Pawlikowski, a first cousin of the bride, acted as commenta tor. Miss Pawlikowski is the dau ghter of Dr. and Mrs. Leonard _ _ F. Pawlikowski of 1514 N. Fre- M^y "p^t Hawiey "of Chicago". white pomps was placed at the foot of the marble altar and two smaller arrangements of white glads and pomps at the rear of the sanctuary. Pretty Miss PaWlikowski chose a full length dress and full chapel train made of schif- fli embroidery over dotted swiss, with tiny rows of val lace. It featured an Edwardian neckline, cap sleeves and fitt ed, empire bodice. Her head piece was a bonnet with strea mers of tucked peau and val lace attached to a four-tier shoulder length silk illusion veil held by a small bow at the back of the bonnet. Mrs. Michael (Diane) De- Wolfe of McHenry acted as the maid of honor and bridesmaids were Miss Corinne Brazeal of St. Louis, Mo., Miss Eileen Condon of Algonquin and Miss CIETY und avenue, McHenry, and Mr. Condon is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James G. Condon, Sr., of 127 Park street, Algonquin. Standing: Miss Viv ian Witt and Mrs. Harry Abraham. Year Around Work Culminates In Fall Benefit When Holiday Hospitality Day, Wednesday, Oct. 1, rolls around the "Coners" breathe a sigh of relief. They are the special group of auxiliary work ers who, under the direction of Mrs. Irwin Burger, herself a lecturer and designer, work all year to stock-pile the beautiful and unique cone creations which are sold only on that day. All proceeds earned that day are presented by the Woman's aux iliary of Memorial Hospital for McHenry County, to the hos pital as an addition to its build ing fund and in the purchase of special equipment for the hos pital. This year, as in other years, there will be an eager line formed outside the Rex Linder home (open for the tour that day and having the "Coners" products for sale), each visitor eager to get an early choice of the "wares'" displayed there. The large, medium and small cone wreaths, as usual will head the list. Nettie Burger has a special group of women who grade, cut, size and wire the cones, nuts, etc., and keep her supplied with the mounds of materials necessary for her to assemble the wreaths. They are always among the first to be sold. Individual Christmas trees have been made based on one large pine cone. They are col orful with small fruits, some gilded, and green leaves, all in various sizes. An espaUered tree based on wrapped wire and decorated with small cones, cone flowers and green-telvet pears really brings to mind the Twelve Days nf Christmas. Standing on a hand-turned wooden base they catch the eye immediately. Some of the espaliered trees have the proverbial "Partridge in the Pear Tree". Striking flowers made from maple tree seeds and tied with brown velvet ribbon are stuck into cone bases, placed on a straw mat and finished as a wall hanging. An "eyecatcher" is the dragon fly made of the same material and surveying the flowers from a corner of the mat. A table arrangement based on a gold sprayed tree branch holding a gold nest, eggs and having a brilliant scarlet tanager hovering nearby is quite a showpiece. Cones surround the base. Mrs. Burger, as chairman of the "Coners" lists her workers as Mrs. Harry G. Ab raham, Mrs. Leroy Ahderson, Mrs. Terry Anderson, Mrs. Henry Burmeister, Mrs. Charles Davis,Mrs.MableDia mond, Mrs. Arthur Enerson, Mrs. John Hughes, Mrs. Wil liam Lampadius, Mrs. Charles Lehman, Miss Gladys Laughlin, Mrs. Philip Masslich, Mrs. A.B.
