Y ScAetbtU 0UM*A SemeUen t969-70 McHENRY COUNTY COLLEGE GENERAL INFORMATION WHO MAY ENROLL IN McHENRY COUNTY COLLEGE? All high school graduates, as wall as non-high school graduates over age 17, who can profit from the educational programs offered, may enroll in McHenry County College as either part-time or full-time students. Pert-time students may enroll in any course offered by the College, either day or evening, for which they are eligible, based upon their past experience. WHERE WILL CLASSES BE HELD? Day and evening clereet will be conducted at the l.l.T. Building (Pure Oil Building), 6200 Northwest Highway, Crystal Lake, Illinois. In addition, extension classes will be conducted in many of the high schools in the county. Classes are scheduled between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 10:00 P.M., Monday through Friday. A detailed listing of the classes scheduled to be offered during Fall Semester, 1969-1970 is to tw found in this paper. WHEN DO CLASSES BEGIN? Fall Semester, 1969-1970 will begin at 8:00 A.M. on Monday, September 8, 1969. ARE CREDITS EARNED AT McHENRY COUNTY COLLEGE TRANSFERRABLE? Credits earned at McHenry County College may be transferred to other institutions of higher education. Students should understand, however, that courses taken at McHenry County College must fit the program they plen to follow at the 4-year institution. Students decide to which 4-year college they will transfer early in their freshmen year at McHenry County College in order to select thoes courses that wNI satisy the requirements of that college. These courses should be selected with the eid of one of the members of the McHenry County College counseling staff. McHenry County College is approved es a Class I College by the Illinois Junior College Board and has been assigned a rating by the University of Illinois leading to full transferability of credit to nearly all colleges and universities in die United States. McHenry County College was voted Correspondent status in the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools last March. Correspondent status for the College is the first slap leeding toward fuN membership (accreditation) in the North Central Association. This status indicates that the institution has given evidence of sound planning and the resources to implement these pi ens. end has indicated en intent to work toward accreditation. Correspondent status is not an accredited status. nor does it assure or imply eventual accreditation. WHAT COURSES OF STUDY ARE OFFERED? OCCUPATIONAL PROGRAMS The following two-year programs leeding to employment are offered: Agricultural' chemicals. technology, accounting, business management secretarial science, industrial supervision, electronic deta-procearing, electronics technology, and mechanical technology: design and production options, medical laboratory assistant, dental assistant police science, industrial maintenance, and horticulftire. In addition, one-yeer programs leeding to en^oymentin each of the above fields era elso available. Conwlt the College catalog for a detaied description of these programs. Programs of diortar duration are offered in such fields as keypunch operator, nurse aide, unit record equipment operator, and automatic screw machine operator. Consult the Office of Student Services for futher information on these programs. UNIVERSITY PARALLEL PROGRAMS Programs leading to additional college work end the Bachelor's degree are offered. There are courses for students interested m purmnng work in engineering, education, medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, veterinary medicine, art. biology, prelaw, physical science, speech end drama, social science, and liberal arts.
