DON PEASLEY PHOTO COLLEGE OFFERS NEW COURSE IN COMPUTATION "Analog Simulation and Com­ putation" will be offered this fall by McHenry County college, announces Maury Bynum, as- sitant dean of Instructional Ser­ vices for Applied Arts and Sci­ ences. This new eight weeks course is designed to acquaint persons working in engineering and/or research with the pro­ gramming techniques for, and the applications of analog computers. The course includes an intro­ duction to physical system sim­ ulation, application of analog computer components, pro­ gramming the analog computer, and experiments with mathe- matic models of linear and non­ linear physical systems. Each of the fifteen topics to be cov­ ered will be emphasized with direct experiments utilizing the Comdyna GP-6 general purpose analog computer and os­ cilloscope display system. The enrollment for this first course is limited to eight per­ sons. Those wishing to par­ ticipate should have courses in differential and integral calcu­ lus, or equivalent experience. The course will meet on Thurs­ day nights from 7:30 p.m. un­ til 9:30 p.m in room 155 at the Crystal Lake high school, starting Oct. 23. Anyone wanting more in­ formation on this course, or wishing to receive further an­ nouncements r oncer ning the SERVICE NEWS program offereings of McHen­ ry County college are invited to contact the Office of Student Services. FACULTY NAMES REPRESENTATIVES, COLLEGE COUNCIL Mrs. Elouise Scott, president of the Faculty association of McHenry County college, has announced the selection of four representatives from that body to the College council. Under the provisions of the Faculty As­ sociation constitution, the pres­ ident and vice-president of the association are to be represen­ tatives to the College council. LAKE COUNTY PMA ANNUAL MEETING SET FOR OCT. 22 Hie annual meeting and din­ ner of the Lake County Local of Pure Milk association will be held Wednesday, Oct. 22, at 7:45 p.m. at St. Matthew's Lu­ theran church in Mundelein. Featured speaker will be Timothy Mogan, director of management services and pub­ lic relations for PMA, ac­ cording to an announcement by Douglas D. Shanks, Rt. 2, Mun­ delein, president, and Lyle W. Matthews, Rt. 2, McHenry, sec­ retary-treasurer of the local. Election of officers for the year ahead is scheduled. Local officers have encouraged mem­ bers to present resolutions for discussion at the meeting. Two other members of the Fac­ ulty association are to be elect­ ed by that body as representa­ tives. Mrs. Elouise Scott, Da­ vid Hill, vice-president, Peter Stuckey and Erwin Cornelius are to be the representatives for the 1969-70 academic year. The College council is a ma­ jor advisory body to the presi­ dent of the college and is com­ posed of representatives from Student Government, Faculty association and the Adminis­ trative council. It is concerned with the continuous development and evaluation of college pol­ icy for review by the president and, upon his recommendation, by the board of trustees of the college. « « » t t f . » n n r MFT REPAYMENT Gov. Richard B. Ogilvie has ordered the repayment of $10 million borrowed by the pre­ vious administration from mo­ tor fuel tax funds. The gover­ nor earlier had announced his administration will not borrow the second $30 million of the $60 million authorized by the General Assembly last year. In letters being prepared for state Auditor Michael Howlett and Treasurer Adlai Steven­ son, Ogilvie said that under the statutory authority granted for the borrowing, $10 million should be paid at once from the general revenue fund to the fuel tax fund. T.H. WALKINGTON Aviation Storekeeper Third Class Thomas A. Walkington, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.P. Walkington of 5301 Barnard Mill road, Ringwood, is participating in Operation Deep Freeze 1970, with Antarctic Development Squadron Six at Quonset Point, R.I. The squadron provides log­ istical support to scientists of the U.S. Antarctic Research program. It transports men, fuel, food and supplies to the stations in Antarctica from Christchurch, New Zealand. The squadron is also involved in photo-mapping the continent. Gerald Stilling, whose wife, Nancy, lives at 3710 Lee street, McHenry, was promoted Sept. 1 to Army specialist five in Vietnam, where he is serving with the 4th Transportation command near Saigon. Spec. 5 Stilling entered the Army in April, 1968, completed basic training at Ft. Polk, La., and was stationed at Ft. Hamilton, N.Y., before arriving in Viet­ nam last October. The 26-year-old specialist graduated from McHenry high school in 1961. WED.
