In the former place they toured the administration building Which they found very interest­ ing. They then crossed the river feo Davenport to visit the Royal Neighbors Old People's home by which they were very fav­ orably impressed. While there they were pleased to have a Jrisit with Mrs. Ollie Geer, for­ merly of Crystal Lake, sister pf George H. Johnson of Mc­ henry. • Those from McHenry who made the trip included Mes- dames Gertrude Murphy, Agnes Wissell, Susan Olsen, Kathryn iVorts, Mayme Freund, Elsie ftieker, Elizabeth Schoewerand Elizabeth Thompson. On Oct. 16 Julie Rae Rode drove her grandmother, Tillie Engeln, to Ft. Myers, Fla., to attend the wedding of Lee Mel- sek grandson of Mrs. Englen, and Jeannie Marie Neeriemer which occurred on Oct. 18 at 7:30 p.m. at Cape Coral, Fla. While there they visited in the home of Mrs. Engeln's daugh­ ter, Mrs. LeRoy (Lorraine) Melsek, and family. They will return to McHenry Oct. 28. Mrs. A.J. Wirtz and sister, Mrs. Ernestine Christian of Chicago, returned last week by plane from a two weeks vaca­ tion in California where they visited their sister, Mrs. Em- merson Burns, and husband in Riverside and also did much sight-seeing. Misses Jom Adams andGerri Restivo of Chicago and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Savini of Elgin were weekend guests in the home of Mrs. Alfons Adams and on Saturday attended the Larkin- Major wedding where Mrs. Sa­ vini served as one of the brides­ maids. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Kleck- er and daughters, Diane and Mary Jean, of Owatanna,Minn., were guests in the home of her aunt, Mrs. Amanda Freund, a few days last week. Miss Ann Frisby returned last Friday from a week's vis­ it with Itasca relatives. Rush- boldt and children of Michigan ' City, Ind., spent a few days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Freund, last week and help­ ed her mother celebrate her seventy-ninth birthday. Mr. and Mrs. C.R. White of Stewart, 111., and Mr. and Mrs. W.W. Wagner of Rochelle spent a recent weekend in the M.L. Schoenholtz home.
