It's good to see your smiling face. INEZ YOUNG UjjjJ Plan Annual ' Holiday Dance For December 6 It's only Nov. 12 and I am beginning to push the panic button because I don't have ail of my Christmas shopping done. Whatever happened to the good old days when you didn't even see any evidence of the forth coming holiday until the last one (Thanksgiving) was over? Each year I promise myself that I will get my shopping done earlier, and each year the last two weeks before Christ mas are a mad scramble to finish the decorations, cookies, cards, shopping and wrapping. Now, all of this brings to mind that the first holiday party is usually the annual Holiday Hills Christmas dance. This is one thing, I never miss and this year will be no exception. My calendar is already marked for Dec. 6. Why don't you do the same and join your friends and neighbors for a gala evening to start off the festive season. CON CON ELECTION Don't forget that next Tues day, Nov. 18, is the date for the election of Con Con can didates. Those who are elected will write the new Illinois Con stitution. See you at the polls! That's Tuesday, Nov. 18, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Casey's. BRAIN RESEARCH Research of the brain will increase our knowledge in mak ing our organs work more ef fectively for us. Someday we may be able to arrest the loss of intelligence in the aging or to improve our memory. The limbic lobe of the brain is the seat of all our emotions, it controls fear, anger, sadness, pleasure, joy, and sexuality. Scientists are now extensive ly exploring this area of the braltf in animals. 1tieyAbave found the electrical stimula tion of the nerve tissues can change a furious bull into a contented animal. Neurosur geons use electrical probes in the treatment of epilepsy, cer ebral palsy and parkinsonism, the instrument locates the troubled nerve tissue and then it is removed carefully.
