ILPh- TEEN-AGE HEALTH NO. 2 Oddly, diabetes, glandular disorders, blood ailments and congenital defects are low on *the list. Acne is possibly a hun dred times more common than diabetes, but almost every teen with diabetes sees the physi cian regularly whereas only a fraction with acne do so. The family doctor treats 42 per cent *of all teen-age ills; pediatricians, 8 per cent; skin specialists, 12 per cent; and surgeons, 20 per cent. The rea son the surgeon sees one-fifth of the teen-agers stems from the frequency of accidents a- mong this group. The same can be said of undertakers because motor vehicle fatalities go up to 42 per 100,000 population among the 15 to 24 age brack et included in this group. One-tenth of these between 5 and 19 years of age have emotional problems. Malnour- ishment and maternal ne glect are said to play a ma jor role. Here at BOLGER'S DRUG STORE...1259 N.
