Pictured above are members of the Sheep- herders Fellowship group at Shepherd of the Silly Supper Proves Success The Sheepherder's Fellow ship group at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran church, 404 North Green street, McHenry, recently sponsored a "Silly Supper" attended by approxi mately sixty members. The highly successful event included a very misleading menu of fifteen dishes served in a four-coUrse meal. A cheese topper for broiled meat is easily made by blending 1 part crumbled blue cheese, 2 parts softened butter, dash of Worchestershire sauce, and lem on juice. Spread on lamb chops, steaks or hamburgers the last minute or two of broiling. A pat of butter on top of cream soup just before serving looks luscious and adds flavor. World Travelers To Show Talks At Johnsburg PTO At the March 16 meeting of the Johnsburg P.T.O. in the multi-purpose room of Johns burg elementary school, Mr. and Mrs. Marshall McNeil of Whispering Hills will show slides of their trip around the world. There will be a business meeting starting at 8 p.m. A presentation by a member of the District 156 school board concerning the pending refer endum will precede the slide presentation. Students are invited to at tend if accompanied by an a- dult. Baby sitters will be a- vailable for pre-schoolers. Hills Lutheran church as they enjoy a Supper" sponsored by the group. •Silly Those attending the event chose the items from the menu that they wanted served during each course of the meal. Each entire course had to be eaten before the next course would be served. Many members un knowingly chose appetizers and desserts for the same course and had to eat them together. Indigestion was the name of the game for the evening. Following the meal and many laughs, the group formed a kit chen band directed by Norm Macdonald. Many highly unusual instruments produced a whole new kind of music. The fun and fellowship eve ning was planned and served by Mary Jane and Jim Boelens, Shirley and Harold Kivley, Midge and Don Teuber, and George Ehlers, Jr. LOUISA'S LETTER (i * " Dear Louisa, I've been thinking I'd write you for some time. I always read your letters in the local paper, and enjoy reading them very much. So I have a problem. I've been a widow for over two years and have one child, a girl 19 years old. She is away at college. She's a good girl--makes real good grades but she thinks I should stay home and not date anyone. I'm in my forties. I married when I was 15 years old and I've never had any single life. I had very strick parents and that's why I married so young. I've been dating a man in his forties. He is nice and I like him. He is so much company to me. But when she comes home on week ends, is it right to leave her home and go with him. He works away and is at home on week-ends, himself. I don't want to hurt my daugh ter. I love her so very much and yet she can't understand my feelings. I feel she has her life to live and so do L Wish you could give me some kind of answer. Mrs. M.-Ky. Answer. There is nothing wrong in dating at your age and under the circumstances which you describe. It all depends on what kind of man you date and the kind of date. If it means going out for a meal or to a movie with your friend there is certainly nothing wrong in that. But if it means spending the night away and leaving your daughter alone there is defi nitely something wrong with that. You are certainly young enough to wish to be married again but be sure that you do not make the mistake that so many widows do of rushing into marriage with the wrong man because you are lonely. As one of my friends is always saying "there are many things worse than being lonesome.". If the man you date is re spectable and you behave prop erly I do not think your daugh ter should object to your dating, However, she is your respon sibility and some of the week ends should be devoted to her.
