Chicago, will appear Friday, July 16. at 7 o'clock in an out door rally at the First Baptist church. Ht 31. south. McHenry. This will be his second ap pearance in the city this year. Mr Tippit is leading a new type revolution in the city on that date. ,, "You meet all kinds of people in Old Town", said Tippit. "Cindy was a girl I met on the street one night. Her father had beaten her and kicked her out of her home When 1 found her she was sitting on a doorstep freezing. 1 talked to her about Christ but she didn't un derstand. 1 brought her to our halfway house and allowed her to stay there for the night. My wife, Tex, led her to Christ the next morning We brought her back home to her parents. She had found someone who really cared - and that Someone is Jesus". Speaking of his "revolution", Tippit continued, "If our country is to stand, we must go back to the principle of one nation under God". "Life" Subject Of Sermon At Local Church Why the works as well as the words of Christ Jesus can mean so much to people will be brought out at Christian Science church services Sunday in a Lesson-Sermon entitled "Life " The healing of the nobleman's son will be included in the Bible readings. The account concludes with these words. "So the father knew that it wa«at the same hour, in which Jesli said unto him, Thy son liveth: and himself believed, and his whole house." One of the citations from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddv slates: "Jesus established what he said by demonstration, thus making his acts of higher importance than his words He proved what he taught." Services held at Christian Science society, Lincoln road and Eastwood lane, are open to the public and begin at 10:30 a.m. Clifford Harris Earns Degree At Judson College Clifford Peter Harris, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Harris, 1110 W.N.E. Sam Grant, president of the McHenry Lions club, reminds residents that the mobile glaucoma screening unit professionally staffed and operated by the Illinois Society for the Prevention of Blindness will be screening, without charge, for unsuspected cases of glaucoma July 23, from 9 to noon and l:3ttto 4:30 p.m. The unit will be stationed in the Market Place. This project is sponsored locally by the Lions club, which is interested in promoting a large turnout for this important screening. ^Glaucoma is a leading cause of blindness in Illinois and is most often found in those 35 and over. If undetected it can eventually lead to blindness. It is estimated that there are 90,000 cases of unsuspected glaucoma in the state, Glaucoma may exhibit no symptoms in the early stages according to Derrick Vail, M.D., a director of the Illinois Society for the Prevention of Blindness. That is why it is so important for those over 35 to be checked for this disease. Glaucoma can be present without the victim suspecting that he has an eye disease which could eventually lead to blindness if not found and treated promptly. It is for this reason that the glaucoma screening unit is being brought to McHenry. At such crucial times we need to remember therejs a nearby fortress of stability.
