The meeting will be held at the American Legion home In Crystal Lake at 7:45. < Petitions have been cir- eulating recently to put the question of whether such a Special district should be formed before the voters. . Formation of the district 'would authorize the imposition jof a tax of up to $8.30 per ten/ thousand dollars of assessed Valuation. ; Speaking on the subject will ;be Ken Fiske, newly named Executive director of the iMcHenry County Conservation 'district which was approved ;this past spring at a public •referendum. Mr. Fiske is .'treasurer of the group passing ;the petitions for the con­ servancy district. I Fiske is expected to detail the •eleven alternative approaches 'to saving the Fox river and 'explain why his group selected .the watershed conservancy ; district route. * He will also explain how the ; thirty-five people to govern the 'district will be appointed. According to the 1969 state "statutes, these individuals could be paid up to $3,000 per year. McCullough, in a letter to park board members, stated that the purpose of the district is to give the highest priority to the improvement of water quality by attacking "the four main pollutant sour­ ces...sewage effluent sources, sewage effluent, non sewage nutrients, soil erosion and excessive algae growth. •V * Letters Santa DELEGATE CANDIDATE ROLAND HERRMANN Attorney Roland A. Herr­ mann of McHenry, has an­ nounced he will be a candidate for alternate delegate to the Republican National con­ vention in San Diego, Calif., Aug. 21-24. Hie delegates will be selected in the primary election next March 21. Mr. Herrmann lives in McHenry and practices law in McHenry and Woodstock. A lifelong Republican, Herrmann stated that the National Nominating convention is one of the most important processes of the American political system. He believes that the important part of the delegates' responsibilities at the convention will be the passage of a good progressive platform that can be a credit to the Republican party as well as all members of the American society. The candidate is married to the former Frances Stoxen of Harvard, and has three children. He is a former assistant State's Attorney of McHenry county and cor­ poration counsel for the city of AUDITOR CANDIDATE AL JOURDAN A1 Jourdan, assistant to the Governor, has announced his intention to run for the office of McHenry county Auditor. He was a successful businessman before joining the Governor's staff. Jourdan and his wife Carrie, are long time residents of McHenry. They have two children and belong to many civic organizations. He presently serves as a member of McHenry county School Board of Trustees to which he was elected in 1970. Jourdan studied accounting and business administration at DePaul university in Chicago and Coe college in Iowa. A lifelong Republican, Jourdan now serves as the chairman of the McHenry County Republican party (a non- paying position) and is an elected precinct com- mitteeman in McHenry township. Harvard. He has also represented numerous other municipal taxing bodies during his thirteen years of practice in McHenry county.
