To proceed with the street lighting program, ten new lights will be installed in the Green street business district. To bolster the Planning commission, consisting of seven members, Mayor Doherty appointed two ad­ ditional members, Ed Dast and Dave Benrud. Qualifications of both men were checked and found to be outstanding. ACCEPT SCHOOL INSURANCE BIDS (Continued from page 1) The District 156 cost per pupil last year was $16.68 and for next year it is estimated to be $21.31. The report listed 1,663.53 pupils in District 156 last year. The cost per pupil of $16.68 was behind Woodstock District 200 with $34.07, Crystal Lake High School District 155 with $19.45 (not including athletic and extra-curricular) and Harrison District 36 with $19.59. Con­ solidated District 15 was $12.33 and Johnsburg District 12, $13.32. Three resignations were accepted. One was for James Bicanic, teacher of art at East campus, and another for Ronald J Zywiciel, member of the East campus staff who has been selected as one of twenty- five vocational development specialists to work with the Department of Defense for a three-year tour of duty in Germany. Mrs Paula Camp­ bell has resigned as junior grade secretary in the guidance office of West campus. The board received evaluation reports of the oc­ cupational education program, which will be detailed in another issue. Board President James Althoff announced that a study was being made of the air conditioning cost at West campus. Linda Verbeke was employed to teach Spanish at East Campus and Judith Ann Loverguth was named to replace Mrs. Campbell THREE INJURED IN AREA CRASH (Continued from page 1) about 4:10 on River road, ^4 mile south of Lake Defiance road, southeast of McHenry. Miller said he was north-bound on River road when an approaching auto forced him off the roadway. He was unable to give officers any information on the other car. Evidence at the scene showed that Miller's vehicle left the east side of the roadway, traveled 186 feet, hit a culvert, traveled across a driveway, traveled 66 feet striking a telephone pole and then proceeded another 61 feet before coming to rest against a tree. Rupert Eichner of Lin- denhurst. 111., was ticketed for driving too fast for conditions when his auto was involved in a one-car crash Monday af­ ternoon at 3:40. The accident * occurred on County Lane road and Main street, Spring Grove. Eichner told police he was driving north on County line, lost control and ran off the road. Although he complained of being hurt, he told in­ vestigating state police officers he would obtain his own medical treatment. Karen M. Tomal of 104 Navajo trail, McHenry, was issued a citation by city police for vehicle entering stop or yield intersection following a two-vehicle accident Saturday afternoon about 4:15 at the intersection of Main and Borden streets. Driver of a truck, George Erber, Jr., of 1515 Walnut drive, Woodstock, stated he was west-bound on Main when the Tomal auto pulled out in front of him and struck the left side of his vehicle. Miss Tomal said she stopped at the sign on Borden street, put her turn signals on, pulled out ' onto Main street and was almost in her correct lane when contact was made with the truck. Vickie L. Mavis of 3604 S. Park Terrace, McHenry, was ticketed by city police for no valid registration after a two- car accident last Wednesday afternoon about 4:10 at 1210 N. Green street. Driver of the other car, Mildred E. Kozelsky of 923 N. River ro^d, McHenry, stated she was stopped in her lane of traffic on Green street whfen the rear of her car was struck. The other driver told police she tried to stop but when she applied her brakes they failed to operate and she struck the Kozelsky auto. It was Santa who also made this wonder of the season possible also. In expressing "oh's" and "ah's" as we drive through city streets to admire outside lighting displays, we realize this is one of the advantages of Christmas 1971 which was unknown years ago. Also missing from the holiday scene until recently were the at­ tractively decorated business areas. The presentation will be aired at 1:30 p.m. Christmas Day over W.K.Z.N, radio 96.9, on the F.M. dial. The show was produced entirely by the students. It was directed by Tom Broman and Jeff Kuhlman. It has the same plot as the original story by Charles Dickens.
