Realism is very important in "Street Scene", as it is a story of life in a New York brown stone apartment. The setting is real, the people are real, and their problems and joys are real An interview with several of the actors sparked many in teresting thoughts Alex Thomas, who portrays Frank Maurrant, said, "I think the play is a masterpiece! A good deal of symbolism is involved, primarily the interaction between people." When he was asked how ,,-he-^felt the production would turnout, he responded^ "I thi^Jk the audiences) will be impressed by the performances. In addition, it will be/a huge succesA jfrom the stapapoint that thosi in- volvecfwill learn a gr eqy deal fron/this play. It is a *ew facet of theatre here at MCHS, and l believe the largest advantage will be that it tends to upgrade our drama program." "I think that "Street Scene" is a fine drama, clearly depicting the problems of life," was Gerry Long's comment. Gerry will be playing Steve Sankey in the play. On being asked how he felt the play would turn out, he said, "I'm confident that we will put on a fine performance, and I hope Know Your Fireman \*r GLENN E. PETERSON Glenn E. Peterson of 1639 N. It really has meaning, and Elmer Rice is sincere in his portrayal of the life in the street." She also stated, "The people who come to see it can understand it on many different levels." If drama is the study of man, these students feel Elmer Rice's "Street Scene" is the essence of drama. Nobody knows, but thoughts come by association. Baby eagerly responds to the sight of a bottle. Experi ence proves that the bottle offers both satisfaction and comfort. Because baby does learn by association, it is im portant that parents expand their children's horizons. A very small child will respond to a simple prayer. And a child of three will enjoy attending Church School geared for youngsters of that age. Religious instruction and guidance is not only for the mature -- it is needed regularly by everyone. The spiritual life of your child needs constant cultivation and the mind needs day by day development. Wonder Lake Bible Church Box 2 - Phone 653-7961 Rev.
