We were especially pleased to have Frank Cuda come in to see us Monday to relay a "Hello" from Matt Eichinger. Frank visited Matt the past week in Puerto Rico where Matt is stationed with the U.S. Air Force. Of course they got in a few rounds of golf. We remember both as top golfers under the guidance of Frank's Dad, Coach Chuck Cuda. EARL WALSH So I Hear SPORTS EDITORJ the roof fell in. If memory serves us correctly, Don reached the age of 19 years at semester time and was ruled ineligible. Frank says that Matt can remember details of those many exciting basketball games when Cliff Fulton was coaching some real good varsity teams. Joined a large crowd at the athletic ^nquet Monday night and had a good time. Fred Kusch will have a report and Larry Lund will have pictures of award winners for this issue. Matt was the play maker and scorer deluxe. He was a real clutch player. And he had "Big Don" Bentz under the boards to feed Nobody pushed Don out of the way. Those fellows had one game after another filled with ex citement. Everybody thought the team was going places then Best cracks of the evening: Soph Coach Gary Collins: "I want to also thank the parents of these boys who made it possible in more ways than one." And -- Coach Ken Ludwig: "So, we ended up with 15 wins and 11 victories." That's mighty good! We saw some tall freshman and sophomore boys in the crowd and Coach Ludwig had his eyes on them. Men Vs. Donkeys In Laugh Contest Men versus Donkeys. That's right - men versus donkeys. The donkey basketball game scheduled at Crystal Lake Field House, on Monday, April 3, at 7:30 p.m., will pit the Crystal Lake teachers against the Crystal Lake Jaycees in a game that will be filled with laughs, thrills, spills and fun galore. We say "men versus donkeys", because players on both teams will have their problems moving the stubborn donkeys toward the basket. They'll have trouble staying on the donkeys from time to time. Of course, this will bring much laughter to the fans. Donkey basketball has often been called the "FUNNIEST SHOW ON EARTH." It combines the circus, the rodeo, and basketball. It is a source of laughter from the time the players attempt to climb on the donkeys until the final whistle sounds. New cowboy stars will be born during the game. Out of nowhere will come new heroes of the circus world. Of course, the new -found stars will only be the local riders, but the thrills they give the fans are not to be forgotten. You will want to bring the whole family to this fun-filled evening. Tickets will be available at the door. to t ake them a l l t he way .
