PAGE 20-PLAINDEALER' Farm Bureau M&mbershipOn The Increase McHenry County Farm Bureau's membership con tinues to climb. One specific example of solid growth - the number of regular members today exceeds the total of regular members a year ago And total Farm Bureau membership stands at a record high of S,315 in the latest report The annual membership drive produced seventy-three new members, and the total membership represents a net increase of 243 over that of March 31, 1971. Henry Edgerton, executive secretary, marks the start of his sixteenth year as Farm Bureau's manager with memories of steady growth since 1962 when Farm Bureau moved into the present new building When he assumed the position in 1957, Farm Bureau had about 2,800 members. Checking the membership roles and natural attrition that resulted in the lull between the transition between executive secretaries -- Virgil Smith to Henry Edgerton - saw the total sag to about 2,700 Edgerton says he believes growth has resulted from a solid program of participation in local affairs by Farm Bureau - taxation, zoning, support of junior college, improved telephones, legislative activity at state and county levels - to mention a few examples One Million Pieces Of Tax Mail Processed Illinois Revenue Director George E.
