ROBERT FRETT GAYLORD PHOTO A pretty summer wedding was solemnized Saturday, July 8, when Patti Moerschbaecher walked down the aisle to meet her bridegroom, Robert Frett, at the altar of St. Patrick's Catholic church. They repeated their nuptial vows before the Rev. Father John Cahill at a 2 o'clock afternoon Mass. Patti is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph M. Moer­ schbaecher, Jr., of 4506 W. The pretty, dark haired bride wore a white, floor , length Victorian gown of imported organza featuring an A-line skirt bordered with tucking and Val lace, a pinafore design bodice with high neckline, long bishop sleeves and a detachable chapel length train edged in lace. Her- chapel length veil was attached to a floral headband of red roses and white carnations. She carried a matching bouquet of red roses, white carnations and baby's breath. Mrs. P.W. (Mary) McDonald of Chicago attended her sister as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Margie Koffend and Karen Jemiola of McHenry, and Mrs.. Jeanne Retienger of Carpentersville, all friends of the bride. The attendants wore floor length voile gowns featuring white bodices with colored grosgrain ribbon woven through white Venice lace bands, long full sleeves, high necklines and full skirts in two- toned Navy voile. Each carried a bouquet of red and white carnations with baby's breath. Matching bands of flowers were worn in their hair. The groom's brother, Richard Frett, Jr., * of McHenry, served as best maa Groomsmen were Joe Moer­ schbaecher of Washington, D C., and Bill Moerschbaecher of McHenry, both brothers of the bride, and Patrick Mc­ Donald of Chicago, brother-in- law of the bride. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Moerschbaecher chose a floor length, light blue dress with white accessories and a white orchid corsage. The bridegroom's mother wore a floor length aquiHblue dress with matching accessories and a similar corsage. Immediately following the ceremony, a reception for about 100 friends and relatives was held at the Moer­ schbaecher home. A series of four monthly meetings is held and includes: 1) Advantages of breastfeeding to mother and baby; 2) The art of breastfeeding and over­ coming difficulties; 3) Labor and delivery, the family and the breastfed baby and 4) Nutrition and weaning. Anyone who is interested is welcome to attend the meeting. Pregnant women will find it very helpful to attend before the baby arrives. Mothers with nursing babies are encouraged to bring them to the meeting. Those who are interested in attending the meeting or who may have further questions may call Mrs. Robert (Roberta) Humphries. Church Women United The bi-monthly board meeting of Church Women United - Lake Region, will be held Friday morning, July 2, from* 9:30 to 11:30 at St. Patrick's church, 3500 W. Washington street, McHenry. The board is comprised of church representatives from Crystal Lake, McHenry national headquarters asking for a Department of Peace plank in the platform. ON DEAN'S LIST John A. Bixby, son of James Bixby, Wonder Lake, has achieved recognition on the Dean's list at Bradley university, Peoria. Bixby is a freshman majoring in in­ dustrial engineering. The young people are both graduates of McHenry Com­ munity high school, the bride in 1970 and the groom in 1969. They are both employed at the McHenry Plaindealer in the printing department. Following a two weeks' wedding trip to Florida, the newlyweds will make their home at 5508 W. Euclid avenue, McHenry. areas. Every denomination is welcome to participate. Devotions will be led by Gerry Lyons. Of special in­ terest, the program will include a film strip entitled "The Automated Battlefield", filmed and documented by the Quakers, to be presented by Mary Liebman. Preliminary Judging For County Queen Thirteen McHenry county beauties begin the quest for honor and glory that will lead one to th£ Miss McHenry County title when they gather at the Timbers restaurant Thursday evening for the preliminary judging. Members of the press, representatives of the spon­ sors, chaperones of the girls, and fair officials will attend this pageantry along with the judges and contestants. Purpose of the session is to provide both judges and con­ testant with an opportunity to become acquainted and to assist both major participants in obtaining the most worthy Miss McHenry County from among the blondes, brunettes, and redheads. The gathering will also provide Charles Weingart, fair president, to brief the press on highlights for this 1972 fair which opens Aug. 2 at Wood­ stock for a five^ay run. At this preliminary judging, no formal scoring will take place, and all thirteen can­ didates will compete before the judges and the grandstand audience in both swim suits and formals on the opening night of the McHenry County Fair in a premier grandstand show. At the initial meeting, last week, contestants heard some of the plans for the event, learned of almost a dozen PWP Chapter To Hear Report On * July Convention Parents Without Partners, Crystal Lake Chapter 189, will hold a general meeting Friday, July 14 at 8:30 p.m. in the Yacht club room of the Crystal Bowl, Rtes. 31 and 176, Crystal Lake. Orientation will be held at 8 p.m. for non-members and those interested in learning about PWP and the local chapter. President Dick Gilpin will lead a discussion on the in­ ternational convention held July 7 and 8 in Toronto, Canada. Participants will be chapter members just back from the convention. Those who attended from the county chapter were Grace Hackl, Pat Olson, Clara Beradi, Dave Methlie, Ann Long, Gladys Porter, Agnes Boden, Willy Hjortland and President Gilpin. Many activities have ' been planned for the chapter for July and August, some of which are stock car races for adults and teens, family trip to railroad museum, birthday party, roller skating, splash party, family mini-golf, coffee and con­ versation, white elephant sale, luau, and newcomers. To be eligible for mem­ bership in Parents Without Partners one must be a single parent with one or more living children and be single by reason of death, divorce or separation, Custody is not a factor.
