Montini Board Prepares For Opening Of School Orientation day for Montini school will be held Friday, Sept, 1, with school scheduled to start the following Tuesday, according to an announcement made by Supt. Don Ryniecki at a meeting of the Montini school board Aug. 14. A uniform resale program is also being planned in con­ nection with orientation day events. Parents will receive further information next week. Board President Dr. Gregory Eckstein informed members that Mrs. Janice Pieroni will be full time secretary at the tMiddle school and Mrs. Marilyn Schaefer will handle secretarial duties at the Primary center. Mrs. Mary Ann Schad was hired as part time bookkeeper. It was noted that whenever volunteer help is offered, these services should be used wherever possible toassitinthe offices or as teacher aides. Dr. Eckstein informed the board that a new policy has been adopted by the Rockford Diocesan board of education which states that each teacher and administrator will earn six hours of credit every three years and each three-year period will commence upon completion of the sixth hour of credit. These hours will be in education or in some ap­ propriate area approved by the area superintendent. In view of this new policy, Ted Pitzen moved that ef­ fective Aug. 14, the Montini school board should eliminate its policy of reimbursing teachers for extra credits earned. "Since the area board has now made it mandatory to earn credits, our policy is no longer necessary", Pitzen stated. The motion carried with the following members voting aye: the Rev. Edmund Petit, the Rev. Eugene Baumhofer, Tony Pintozzi, Henry Kenyon, Viola Herkes, William Marsh, Barbara Gilpin, Elsie Winkel, Charles Adams and Pitzen. John Coughlin voted no on the motion. An insurance bill in the amount of $1,300 was presented which covered two months' hospitalization and life in­ surance premiums for the teachers. Since a majority of the board question paying this amount until more information is available, the matter was tabled until further details are received from the area board, which is meeting next week. The next meeting of Montini school board is scheduled for Monday evening, Sept. 11, at 8 o'clock in St. Patrick's church hall. Ticket Driver Of Motorcycle Bertram Stittgen of 407 W. Bay road, McHenry, was ticketed for operating a motorcycle without proper driver's license classification last Saturday afternoon by sheriff's deputies who were called to investigate the report that a motorcycle was being driven at excessive speeds in Huemann's subdivision, north of McHenry. Stittgen, who had left the scene, was identified and when contacted denied the speeding charge but was arrested for the driver license violation. Beth Cable Earns Blue Ribbon For State Fair Entry Beth Cable, 10-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Cable of 3112 Fairway drive, McHenry, returned home with honors received in her first year of competition at the Illinois State Fair. For her work with the family's year old Cocker Spaniel, "Puddins", the youngster captured fifteenth place out of sixty-four entries in the sub-novice class of dog obedience training. Her score was 191 out of a possible 200. For her efforts, Beth received a blue ribbon. Previously, she had received a blue ribbon in competition at the McHenry County Fair, which entitled her to advance to the state. The young lady is a member of the Lakeland Park 4-H Club.
