Wedges are back in fash ion and so are thick soles. Peanut Butter Plus Ice Cream Good Taste You may know the trick of stirring peanut butter into smtened ice cream then refreezing the mixture. Or the good taste of a peanut butter sauce on ice cream. But here's a new twi^r on an old familiar recipe. Make up a peanut crunch with crisp rice cereal and use it in a variety of ways for ice cream desserts. An ice cream dessert is made all the more nutritious by the addition of peanut butter, which in itself is one of our most nutritious foods. Peanut butter is a high energy food, rich in protein and an excellent source of niacin, a B vitamin. The oil in peanut butter is a good source of the essential polyunsatura ted fatty acids. So you see, it makes sense to boost the nutritious- ness of ice cream by the addition of peanut butter. Peanut Butter Crunch: Mix together lA> cup light or dark corn syrup, Va cup Skippy creamy or chunk style peanut butter. Add 3 cups crisp rice cereal and stir until cereal is well coated. For Ice Cream Bars: Press the crunch mixture into a waxed- paper lined 13x9V2x2 inch pan. Chill until firm. Turn out of pan, remove waxed paper. Cut in half, fill with ice cream and cut into bars. Wrap and freeze until serving time. For Ice Cream Cake: Press the crunch mixture into 3 waxed paper lined 8-inch cake pans. Chill until firm. Unmold, remove waxed paper and fill with ice cream. Wrap and freeze until serving time. For Ice Cream Pie and Tarts: Press crunch mixture into 9-inch pie pan or into 8 medium cup cake pans. Chill until firm. Fill with ice cream and serve at once. rcw* sceKE Using the McHenry Service Center LAWN BOY LAWN MOWER SALES & SERVICE BR00KW00D GARDEN CENTER 4505 YV.
