Anyone who desires in formation may phone Supt. C.H. Duker at the high school. A seven passenger Dusen- berg Sedan owned by Charles Wieland of Pistakee Bay was stolen last Thursday evening between the hours of 9 and 11 o'clock. Fourteen beautiful fiery tressed maidens, known as the Bricktops, America's Greatest Girl Orchestra, have been engaged to appear at the Fox Pavilion, McHenry. The Bricktops hold the distinction of being the first girl band to launch trans-continental dance tour. After five years in vaudeville as a premier at traction the girls turned their attention to dance work. Mr. and Mrs. James Fay left Tuesday morning for Cham paign where they will make their home. They have rented an apartment there and Edwin Sherman, Frank Harrison and Kenneth Boley, who will attend the University, will live with them. James Fay will also attend the university. Bob Peterson went to Chicago where he sang at the Palace, theatre in the semi finals of a contest sponsored by the Daily News in cooperation with the NBC and RKO radio network. With 7,000 contestants this gigantic contest, Bob came through with flying colors to be admitted to the semi-finals. The 1972-73 plans indicate Fall Campout and a new father and son induction Oct. 14 and 15; Father and Son banquet, Dec. 3; Winter Campout in January; Road Rally in April and Summer Campout in June. An invitation will be given to all first and second grade boys to join Indian Guides in McHenry, Crystal Lake, Fox River Grove, C'ary. Algonquin, Woodstock and Wonder Lake school districts Sept. 5-8. Mrs. Stratton is a graduate of the Burnham School of Beauty Culture. Sept. 29 McHenry Local 46 of the Retail Liquor Dealer's Protective Association of Illinois will stage an exciting party consisting of fun, music, song and games at Dan Daniels, Lake Shore club, Lily Lake. The concrete products company of Von Bampus and sq§6, located on Waukegan street, has been purchased by Francis W. Audette and Vin cent A. Weyland of McHenry. The business will be known in the future as Audette and Weyland Concrete products. Eight teams composed of members of the C.D. of A. began the 1947 bowling season at Schaefer's bowling alleys Tuesday evening. The teams are Winkel's Winners, O'Brien's Optimists, Gert's Go- Getters, Barb's Bowler's, Kinsala's King Pins, Una's Leaguers, Miller's Mighties and Hogan's Hustlers. St. John's church, Johnsburg, was the scene of a beautiful fall wedding Sept. 13, when Miss Thelma Lay became the bride of Mr. Kenneth Hamshei* of Flint, Mich., Rev. Fr. A.J. Neidert officiated at the double ring nuptials. Vocal solos by Mary Rita Stilling and an interesting and informative talk on "School Re- Organization" by Supt. C.H. Mrs. Azella Schennemann of Rt. 3, McHenry, was injured in an automobile accident on Barreville road on Wednesday afternoon. The McHenry Community high school band has accepted the invitation of Northwestern university to appear in its seventh high school band day on the Evanston Campus Sept. 22. Under the direction of John Leighty, the band will be an important segment of the nearly 5,000 teenage musicians who will travel from 61 dif ferent high schools in Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin. Two sections of fall semester classes will begin Sept. 12 and 14, and will meet on consecutive Tuesdaysv or Thursdays from 6-10 p.m. Designed to train men and women to become orderlies or nurse aides able to provide qualified assistance to professional medical personnel in hospitals and nursing homes, the course is taught by Mrs. Margaret Van Breda, R.N. Mrs. John Kropik, 76, of Johnsburg died Sept. 15 in her home. Mrs. Kropik had resided for eighteen years in the McHenry area. Parent-Child Communication is a discussion class designed to explore the dynamics of parent- child communication and to assist parents to develop greater effectiveness in communicating with their children. The course will be taught on an informal basis with brief presentation of materials, open class discussion, and role playing. Specific interests of the students will be considered in determining the subjects to be covered. The class will meet from 7 to 10 p.m. Wednesday evenings, starting Sept. 13.
