But the photo shows twin molds -- simply a matter of doubling the amount of ingredients and using two molds, or one large mold, if you prefer, to serve 12 persons at a big company dinner. GOLDEN BARTLETT PEAR SALAD % 1 package (3 oz.) orange gelatin Dash salt 1 cup boiling water 1 teaspoon slivered orange rind cup orange juice 2 fresh California Bartlett pears yA cup sliced celery 2 tablespoons chopped green pepper (optional) Western iceberg lettuce Dissolve gelatin and salt in boiling water. Stir in orange rind and juice. Chill /2 cup gelatin mixture until slightly thickened. Pare, halve and slice pears. Arrange part of slices against sides of 3 or 4-cup mold. Pour thickened gelatin carefully around pear slices. Chill until almost firm. Chill remaining gelatin until it mounds on spoon. Dice remaining pears and fold into gelatin with celery and green pepper. Turn into mold over chilled gelatin and sliced pears. Chill several hours until firm. To serve, dip mold into warm water a few seconds and invert onto lettuce- garnished serving platter. Cut into slices. Makes 6 servings. My sister will be maid of honor add I had planned to have five of my friends as brides maids. Now my problem is t h i s -- M y m o t h e r t h i n k s I should ask the groom's sis ter to be one of the brides maids but we have never been good . friends or had much to do with each other and I would rather have someone else in her place. What do you think about this? Do you think it is nec e s s a r y f o r m e t o i n c l u d e her? Gertrude--Miss. Aftswer: I agree with your mother on this question for several reasons. To begin with the rela tionship you establish with your husbands family will have much to do with your future happiness or grief later on rnd there is no better time to begin being gracious to the members of his family than now. It is customary to ask the groom's sister to be in the wedding unless there is some very good reason for not doing so and if you leave her out of the party you will probably build up resentment, not only from the girl, herself, but from other members_£>f the family. Having as many bridesmaids as you are planning to have, you should certainly ask her to take part. Louisa. Dear Louisa, I am thinking of getting a divorce but I haven't made up my mind. My husband is considered a good husband. He's a good provider and is easy to get along with but t h e t r u t h o f t h e m a t t e r i s that I am bored to death. He never wants to go anywhere and when he gets home he loves to putte about the yard or read or look at television. I am not interested in any other man but I might be if I were free to get around and meet other people. Do you think I would be silly to ask for a divorce? - M.-Ga. Answer: Yes, I think you would be silly to ask for a divorce. T h e r e a r e t h o u s a n d s o f women in this world who would be delighted to have a husband who took an inter est in the yard--who was not out chasing other women or coming home drunk. But if you are so bored with the pattern of your life why not try to change it by occasionally inviting friends in for an evening. They will probably ask you back in re t u r n a n d t h a t w o u l d b e a good way to start your hus band enjoying the company of other people. I once knew a man who was a great introvert but after a few years of getting to know others, not in his small circle, he was hardio keep at home. And remember this--the great number of people, if they were, truthful,, would know in their hearts that, if they had tried as hard to get along with the first mate as t h e y d i d w i t h t h e s e c o n d , there would have been no divorce.
