WILLIAMS II MARRIED - Miss Beverly Dimon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Dimon of 7204 West Route 120, McHenry, and Albert (Sandy) G. Williams II, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Williams, Auckland 3, New Zealand, were united in marriage at a 1:30 p.m. wedding at the Wonder Lake Bible church Oct. 7. A reception immediately following the ceremony took place at the McHenry Country club. (DON PEASLEY PHOTO) The Woodstock Fine Arts association (WFAA) launched a promising new season of cultural excitement by welcoming hundreds of old and new friends to the historic Woodstock Opera House on Hospitality Day, Oct. 4. WFAA board members, clad in long skirts, guided folks from all over McHenry county, as well as Barrington, Palatine, Oak Park, the North Shore, and Chicago, through the somewhat shabby but well-scrubbed and straightened lobby and theatre of the landmark. More than half of the McHenry county residents, and even some from the town of Woodstock, had never seen the inside of the Opera House before. Besides showing visitors through the display of local artifacts and Opera House memorabilia loaned for the occasion by the McHenry County Historical society, board members introduced and answered questions about the 1972-73 Creative Living Series of performances and lectures sponsored by the association. This year entering its ninth season, the Creative Living Series will give members of the community an opportunity to see, hear and meet leading authorities and performers in the fields of Archeology, Theatre, Fashion, Folk Music and Dance, Mime, and An tiques. The first event in the series, scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 19, at 10 a.m. in the Opera House, will be "A Fashionable Glimpse at American History" featuring a film and talk by Peg Zwecker, noted fashion columnist for the Chicago Daily News. Other successful programs continuing this season under the auspices of the Fine Arts Association are ballet classes for women, children and men; children's theatre; student summer theatre program; and the Encounter with the Theatre program now going on in McHenry county schools. New this year will be Aff iliate Artists, Inc., a national program which brings an ex perienced and gifted professional dance, singer, or musician into small com munities to perform, and to meet the people in a mutual effort to give the artist greater understanding of the audience, and to give the community a greater understanding of the art. If you are trying to shed those few extra pounds you picked up during the summer months, don't skip breakfast. Cut down on the total number of calories you have each day, but don't cut out breakfast. It has been about 12 hours since dinner and you need protein and carbohydrates at breakfast time to keep blood sugar at proper levels to avoid that mid- morning slump. Eating break fast will also help keep you from getting hungry in the middle of the morning and in dulging in snack foods which may be high in calories but low in important nutrients you need. \r v P l a i n d f a l k r ertry CtPlai ttJeah Established 1875 3812 West Elm Street Phone 385-0170 McHenry, Illinois 60050 Published Every Wednesday & Friday at McHenry, Illinois Second Class Postage Paid at McHenry, Illinois By McHENRY PUBLISHING COMPANY Adele Froehlich -- Editor Larry E.
