Road no dif- State Senator Karl Beming, seeking reelection from the 32nd district, was honored at a McHenry county precinct workers' dinner Friday evening in Island Lake. In remarks before the workers, Beming stated that it has been a pleasure serving McHenry county residents for the past six years, and even though the 32nd district, in its present form, did not include a great portion of the county, he asked for continued support. Those areas remaining are Precinct 25, McHenry town ship, and Precincts 4, 6, 12 and 16 in Nunda township. "Not since 1948 has our party been in such danger from voter complacency as today," he continued. "Despite good candidates, Republicans should not feel election to state and county offices are in the bag." No supplemental printed material is needed, he em phasized. Copies of the booklet are being sent to all drivers whose renewal notices require them to take the examination. Persons applying for their first Illinois license may obtain the booklet at Driver License Examining stations or by writing to Springfield. The questions presented in Rules of the Road are not the same as those' on the examination, but they cover the same material, frequently in more detail than the e x a m i n a t i o n q u e s t i o n s , Secretary Lewis said. All questions are multiple choice, with four choices given, only one of which is the correct answer. Multiple choice questions with two or more correct answers have been eliminated. The Secretary also noted that the entire examination is now printed on a single sheet of paper, instead of separate ones for the road signs and the traffic laws. This is not only a more efficient procedure for both applicants and office personnel, but is also resulting in a saving in paper, he added. The questions will continue to be revised periodically to ac commodate changes in the law and new developments in road markings, and to prevent the exact wording of them from becoming generally known, Secretary Lewis said.
