By Carol Wilyat Those of us in Helping Paws tend to take it for granted that everyone who reads our column knows exactly what we are trying to accomplish, but I'm sure that is not so. The main purpose is to help stray animals, although we do try to find homes for family pets that have to find a new home only after advertising on their own fails. We do ask a donation for every animal placed through us depending on shots, medication needed while in our care, etc. The donation required is very nominal, a good home is always uppermost. The donation is used for the stray animals in our care and the overflow is deposited in our savings ac count which will be used for an animal shelter for strays. We highly recommend spaying to help cut down on die over population of animals which is a bad problem in this area. "Our office is now open Monday through Friday, 10-12 and 1-3. Call 815-459-2641.
