(STAFF PHOTOS-WAYNE GAYLORD) MCHS Soph Cagers Split In Weekend Tilts By Dick Rabbitt Coach Gary Collins' sophomore cagers split a pair over the weekend. They lost in overtime to North Chicago 59 to 52 and then on Saturday night easily defeated Kaneland 53 to 30. In the Friday night game the young Warriors, after trailing 13 to 10 at the quarter, ran up a 29 to 22 halftime lead. They maintained a 44 to 38 lead going into the final eight minutes. North Chicago put on a rally and managed to tie the game at 51 all at the buzzer. In the overtime it was all North Chicago. Their superior height took its toll on the Warriors and they went down to a 59 to 52 defeat. Ev Klapperich came off the bench to score 18 points and lead the local attack. On Saturday night it was all McHenry. The young Warriors jumped off to a 11 to 4 quarter lead and were never threatened the rest of the way. They held a 24 to 15 halftime lead, and 42 to 26 going into the final frame. Tom Stark with 15 pts paced the locals.
