Warriors Play Woodstock In Regional At Antioch By Dick Eabbitt The McHenry Warriors, seeded number one, open regional play at Antioch on Tuesday evening against the Woodstock "Blue Streaks". Game time is 7:30 P.M. The Warriors by virtue of defeating the other three teams entered gained the distinction of being rated number one. As you recall last year McHenry defeated An tioch in the finals at McHenry, thus gaining the first regional championship in the school's history. Freshmen Cagers Split Weekend Tilts KAOt /-rLAIINUCALCK-rKIUAT, /WMKV.I1 Z, lY/O This is probably one of the most even regionals in the state. Any one of the four teams entered is capable of winning the tournament. Antioch, the host school, with their high scoring guard Tim Mieure is certainly a threat. Grant is always a good tournament team, and the Blue Streaks, although bowing to Crystal Lake last Saturday, did defeat a good Libertyville team on Friday, and must be considered a possible winner. If the Warriors can get back on the winning track, they can make it two championships in a row. They have played great ball all season, although there was a letdown last weekend, I'm sure they will bounce back and get in the groove. .On Wednesday night at 7:30 Grant will play Antioch, with the two winners pairing off in the finals on Friday evening at 7:30. Tickets are available at the high school. ; Let's all go to Antioch and help the Warriors bring back another championship. Warriors Host Blue Streaks In Home Final By Dick Rabbitt In the final home game of the season, Coach Ken Ludwig's "Warriors" play Woodstock tonight. The Warriors, after a disappointing weekend, hope to get back on the winning track. The Streaks come to town in sixth place in the North Suburban with a record. They beat Libertyville in overtime last Friday 69 to 65, and then on Saturday lost to Crystal Lake 63 to 55. They will be out to avenge an earlier loss to the Warriors. The Warriors are currently alone in the third spot, with a 8 and 5 record. They have a difficult assignment. Not only must they be on their toes tonight, but will play the Streaks again on Tuesday in the opening game of the Antioch regional. I'm sure that the brief slump is over, and the Warriors will be on the rampage again tonight. Let's get out and support the team in their home final.
