The varsity and mixed chorus each received a second place rating while the junior varsity chorus received a first. The following students received a first place rating on their vocal solos: Brady An derson, Kim Coleman, Rose Robison, Dee Amato, Kathy Ahern, Donna DeWerdt, Sue VanKanegan, Laura Higgins, with Linda Jinga and Julie Bright receiving a first place rating with a perfect score. The following received a first place rating on their en sembles: Sue VanKanegan, Donna DeWerdt, Eileen Ahern, Dee Sturm and Anne Bazan. The ensembles which received a second place rating consisted of the following students: Julie Bright, Linda Jinga, Laura Higgins, Sue VanKanegan, Donna DeWerdt, Kathy Ahern, Dee Amato. Missy Matesi, Vicki Mon teleone, Colleen Tranberg, Tamee Baker, Meg Ruggero, Patty McMillan, Sue Gun- derson, Dennis Coughlin, Marty Gibbons, Dave Wright, Mike Weber and Paul Bazan. Mrs. Brown is very proud of these boys and girls and is sure that all Wonder Lakers are, also. NEWLYWEDS Best wishes to newlyweds Mr. and Ms. Richard A. Stock who were married March 3 in Grace Lutheran church in Woodstock. The bride is the former Regina Field er, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Fielder, Jr., of Wonder Lake, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Stock, Woodstock. The mother of the bride is a fourth grade teacher at Harrison school. MOTHER DAUGHTER BANQUET The annual Mother Daughter banquet of the Wonder Lake Bible church has been scheduled for Monday, May 14, 6:30 p.m. at the Timbers Restaurant in Woodstock. Those attending will enjoy a delicious smorgasbord plus a fine program. Reservations can be made after April 1. 3 YEAR OLD SINGER Say what you will about Fred Rogers and his T.V. neigh borhood but in my book he's O.K. The other evening our three year old came bursting io the back door after a busy afternoon playing outdoors and he was singing one of Mr, Roger's songs at the top of his lungs, "It's such a good feeling to know you're alive!" 'Tis enough to warm the cockles of a mother's heart. ATHLETIC BOOSTERS DANCE The Harrison Athletic Boosters would like to remind all there are still tickets available for their first annual "Be My Booster" dance to be held on Saturday, March 24, at Christ the King hall. Music will be provided by a local band and there will be refreshments available. The proceeds from this dance will be used to further the athletic facilities at Harrison school. PACK MEETING Knights of the Tournament was the theme of the Pack Meeting of Cub Scout Pack 145 on Thursday, March 15C Ar mour, dragons and castles were made by the boys, some individually and some in den projects. First place ribbon was awarded to Mark Bell of Den 2. Second place ribbon went to Den 2, Pat Seaver, Den Mother and scouts, Mark Bell, Tim Jones, Robert Kalleck, Randy Nelson, John Seaver and Rex Olson. Third place ribbon was won by Joey Liggett of Den 6. Skits were performed by Den 2 and Den 3. An award for the best appearance of the Scouts in uniform went to Den 3, Donna Maris, Den Mother and assisted by Audrey Burrows. Three new boys were welcomed into scouting, Lars Romme into Webelos and Ramon Wrzek and Jeffrey Lomax into Cub Scouts. Scout-O-Rama tickets were passed out to the boys. The theme of Scout-O-Rama this year is Space Ships and it will be at the Woodstock fair grounds on May 19 from l p.m. to 9 p.m. The next pack meeting will be April 19 and the exciting. Pinewood Derby is scheduled for the evening. Jeffrey Jackson was a guest of the Scouts for the March pack night. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MARIE Marie Robinson is a persoh who believes that just because she's been around since the turn of the century it's no ex cuse to sit in the old rocking chair waiting for Gabriel to toot his horn. There's hardly a busier woman in Wonder Lake, young or old. She's active, involved, interested in people and their well being and con- suumes a great deal of time telling this reporter of the activities of her Young at Hearts Club and the Wonder Woods Women's Auxiliary. At 73 she's still full of spice and vinegar! Happy birthday on March 26, Marie, and many more to come. MID-WINTER CONCERT The mid-winter concert of the Harrison school concert and stage bands was held on Sun day, March 11 at 7:30 p.m., under the direction of Richard Mikus, supervisor of music at Harrison school. The concert band played several numbers, including "Tall Cedars" and "Classical Gallery". The stage band played: "Sunday Mor ning", and "The Sponge" which featured Lydia Ruggero on the trumpet and Wendy Gildemeister on the saxophone. "Totem Pole" featured Meg Ruggero on the saxophone and Tom Kranz on the guitar. "Brass Boogaloo" featured Jeff Anderson on the trumpet and Vicki Bazan on the baritone. The boys and girls in the band surprised Mr. Mikus at the conclusion of the program with a birthday cake and singing of "Happy Bir thday". Robert Bright, superintendent of the school, congratulated Mr. Mikus on his recent achievement of receiving his Master's Degree. The concert band will be going to District Band Contest on March 24. The concert band members who participated in the solo and ensemble contest which was held recently at Harrison school received their medals during the program, to the delight of parents and friends. McCULLOM LAKE RESIDENTS Now residing in McCullom Lake are newlyweds Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Boehmer. The bride is the former Debra Gosse, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orville Gosse, Wonder Lake and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Boeh mer, Wauconda. The couple was married on Feb. 24 in Christ the King church, Wonder Lake. Congratulations! LENTEN SERVICES Lenten Services at Nativity Lutheran church are held on Wednesday evenings at 8 p.m. Services will be informal with emphasis on Key 73. They will be held in the social hall. On Wednesday, March 21, the Lutheran Church Women's meeting will take place after the services. MILK PRICES February, 1973, marked the first time in history that a blend price exceeding $6.00 per cwt. for milk was paid dairy far mers shipping milk to the Chicago regional marketing area. The $6.02 per cwt. federal order blend price, announced March 14 for February milk, will be further increased by a superpool payment of three cents, making the total price $6.05 per cwt. according to an announcement by George Hansen, supervisor, Central Milk Producers Co-operative. The $6.05 price is equivalent to a value of 13.01 cents per quart to the milk producer.
