I PAGE 5-PLAINDEALER-FRIDAY, APRIL6, 1973 Ringwood Nfews WSCS Schedules Monastery Tour In Antioch The regular monthly meeting of the Women's Society of Christian Service will be held Wednesday, April 11. This will be a tour of the Catholic monastery located at Antioch and everyone is asked to meet at the church in Ringwood at 9:45 a.m. so we can leave at 10 a.m. Following the tour, we will return to Ringwood to the Richard Zell home "on the hill" for lunch and a business meeting. There will be a baby-sitter at the church for pre-schoolers. Please bring a sack lunch for your child if you plan to leave them over the noon hour. Contact Katy Christopher, 728- 0295, if you will have a youngster in the nursery so we will know how many to expect. Also ladies please remember to bring your recipes to the meeting so that we can finish planning our tasters luncheon that is to be held at the Ringwood church on Wed nesday, May 2. Don't forget your recipes. BYKOTAS TO MEET Perhaps you wonder about the title "Bykota". It is made up from the first letter of each word in the phrase "Be Ye Kind One To Another." It is a group of adults over 21 from all three parishes who get together once every two months for a social evening of fellowship and fun. They will meet at the Ringwood United Melodist church Friday night, April 13, at 8 p.m. Plan to come out for a good time and get acquainted with folks in our wider parish. TASTER'S LUNCHEON The Ringwood United Methodist Women of the Ringwood church are planning their annual tasters luncheon for Wednesday, May 2 at 12 noon. Mark your calendar if you are interested in attending and there will be more details later. ABOUT TOWN A letter has been received from Bill and Mercedes Hoff man telling about the tornado that went through their area on March 13. Guess it really shook them up, Bill and Mercedes didn't have a lot of damage but the tornado leveled about twelve of the Mobile homes in their area. Bill is now home recuperating after being in the hospital so anyone wishing to send cards or best wishes may do so. Their address is Mr. and Mrs. Wm Hoffman, Leisure Shores, Star Rt. 1, Blue Eye, Mo. 65611. Curly Skidmore spent Monday of this week with her mom, Mrs. Ehlert, and Mabel in Wilmot, Wis. Jerry Freund, Carol and Mark of McHenry, Lil and Frank Visconti, Patti Miller and sons, Lee and Scott, had Sunday dinner with the Walt Lows and Sue Erwin and children. Visitors in the Dick Zell home Sunday evening for supper were Dick's sister, Joanne, and husband, Ron DePew, and children, Diane and Joe. Dick Crosby's brother and parehts of Macomb were visitors in the home of Dick and Jackie Crosby over the past weekend. Really believe Dick is trying to rush the season. Saw a terrible smoke over that way and would you believe it - Dick was "cooking out". Guess if Dick burned the meat they filled up on home made ice cream. Didn't even ask the neighbors in. FIRST BIRTHDAY To help Rusty Cerny of Ridgeway road to celebrate his first birthday of his little life his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Goscinski of Mt. Prospect were on the scene last Sunday. HELPING .PAWS m V by Carol Wilyat The Helping Paws' office is open Monday through Friday, 10-12 and 1-3 p.m., telephone number 815-459-2641. We have been receiving complaints regarding dogs tied outside without proper shelter when the animal is outside day and night. A warm dog house with a flap across the opening is a must if the house is to be kept dry in rainy and snowy weather conditions. Helping Paws feels that if you own a dog, he deserves human companionship and daily exercise on a leash if a fenced- in yard is not available. Our dogs must be placed in homes where these requirements are met.
