Established 1952 as Crystal Lake Savings & Loan Association H v 1 :: I mA I VOTE THE PROGRESSIVE TICKET APRIL 17 - 1973 McHenry is in the midst of needed and worthwhile projects, AND IT LOOKS WITH PRIDE ON COMPLETED IMPROVEMENTS: 1. The additions to the sanitary sewage treatment plant are practically completed. The main trunk line necessary to serve Lakeland Park, Lakeland Shores, and other Westerly parts of the City, are presently being constructed. Through the efforts of the Council, Federal and State grants, combined with the cooperation of the people of all of McHenry, made this possible. 2. To improve the constantly growing traffic problem, Illinois State Route 120 West is being reconstructed by the State of Illinois, with the City participating in the project through allocation of $210,000.00 of State Motor Vehicle Tax Funds. 3. High grade industry has been brought to McHenry and constant efforts are being made to bring others of a like quality. 4. The Municipal Building was remodeled and enlarged at a low cost, which other municipalities view with envy. 5. A new maintenance equipment building was built to house all City equipment. 6. These buildings were paid for by careful planning, no bond issues, or other borrowing, was required.. 7. A Public Works Department was established to com bine departments into an efficient unit. With the aid of matching funds, the Police Department has been well equipped, schooled and developed into a fine department. 9. Members of various boards, such as the Planning Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals, Library Board, Local Board of Health, Police Commission and Police Pension Board, have been carefully chosen and have given valuable service in the development of our City. 10. McHenry's financial position has been guarded with pride, enjoying a Class "A" Moody Rating. How many taxing bodies can say they did not issue Tax Anticipation Warrants during the past year? McHenry can. How many municipalities have reduced their tax rates in the last three years? McHenry has. REVENUE SHARING: Revenue sharing is intended to help cities in avoiding increased f" taxes and to reduce tax rates wherever possible. The Treasury :j Department has warned that cities cannot expect to replace all < taxes with federal funds or they might lose heavily in revenue: sharing. The federal help will enable McHenry to carry out \ projects without additional burden on the tax payers. McHenry would not have received large grants to build the- sewer plant if the voters had not approved a $675,000 bond issue.: NOR would Illinois route 120 widening be under way if McHenryt had not agreed to use $210,000 of its share of Motor Fuel Tax to • assist. * WE GIVE YOU FACTS. McHenry has made great progress. * THE PROGRESSIVE TICKET has men of experience, plus men- of vision. : We solicit your vote of confidence. VOTE STRAIGHT © PROGRESSIVE PARTY DONALD P.
