A seven-year veteran, he is making the service a career. Following the conclusion of his leave, Patterson will go to Korea, where he will be stationed for a year. R.F. ROSING Pfc. Richard F. Rosing, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard H. Rosing, 3702 W. Maple, McHenry, is currently serving with the U.S. Army in Yongson, Korea. Pfc. Rosing enlisted in the Army last summer under the delayed enlistment program and entered the service in October, 1972. He completed his basic training and Clerk-Typist schooling at Fgrt Polk, La. He is a 1971 graduate of Marian Central high school. Two Monthly Recycling Drives Are Announced Two young people's groups will be in charge of the monthly recycling drives in the Crystal Lake area Saturday, May 19. Junior Defenders, under the leadership of Mrs. Florence Seda of McHenry County Defenders, will collect bundled newspapers, magazines and corrugated board at the Crystal Lake high school faculty parking lot from 9 a.m. until the truck is filled. They will also appreciate people bringing old wax and plastic bags for them to recycle into candles and decorative pillows to sell at the McHenry County Fair." Proceeds from Junior Defenders participation in this drive go tward continuing their reforestation program throughout the county. Glass bottles and jars of all types and tin cans will be ac cepted by Explorer Post 127 at the Crystal Lake Plaza, where the Scouts will be on hand from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. In McHenry, the Defenders and another youth group, Luther leagtie of Shepherd of the Hills church, will sponsor a paper drive at the Market Place shopping center on Route 120 the following Saturday, May 26, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. At the same time and place, the Women's auxiliary of West Shore Beach will collect glass containers and tin cans. County Invests Total Of $220,059 In C And H Bonds McHenry county residents purchased a total of $220,059.00 in Series E and H United States Savings bonds in March, according to Donald J. Still, Woodstock, volunteer county chairman of the Savings Bonds committee. Sales in the State of Illinois totaled $40,418,648, according to Clarence S. Magazines, combined with any junk mail, must be tied tightly or placed in strong cartons or bags. Corrugated board (do not include cardboard such as cereal boxes) will be accepted if tied separately into small bundles. Such "premium" papers as p r i n t e d m a t e r i a l , mimeographed or ditto sheets, notebook paper, stationery (but not photostatic or Xerox paper) are desirable because they.are of high quality ; these should be tied into bundles 8-10 inches high. Tin cans (all-steel with a tin coating), the kind used for vegetables and pet food, must be clean and flattened with lids inside and paper labels removed.
