He sat in a huge hat atop the head of 4- vear-old Tim, who portrayed the butcher of nursery rhyme fame. The hat band carried the question, "What's For 5 Dessert"? Polly was the baker and her sister. Jennifer, 7, the candlestick maker. Polly, Jennifer and Tim have many friends in McHenry and Wonder Lake, where they formerly made their home. They are the children of Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. One article, "Murals Enrich Reading Interests", was published in June, 1957, and "Gifted Children and Art" appeared in the September, 1957. issue She has also studied at the University of Chicago. Miss Bauer is a member of Alpha Theta chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, an honor society for women educators. She has been secretary of the IcHenry County Teachers association. During the summer of 1971 Miss Bauer toured Europe for six weeks. PASTORAL CHANGES At the annual Northern Illinois conference of the United Methodist church, held June 3 in DeKalb, it was announced that the Rev. Willis Walker had been transferred from Pistakee Highlands to a Lockport church. The Rev. Leonard Schoenherr will replace him at Mount Hope church. EARNS DEGREE Edward F. Kilroy received his Master's degree in Business administration from Northern Illinois university Saturday, June 2. Edward is the son of Frank J. Kilroy of Whispering Oaks. (Staff Photo - Wayne Gaylord) Deaths PETRA RANGEL Petra Rangel, 56, of 5305 Orchard drive, McCullom Lake, died Sunday, June 3, in Northwest Community hospital, Arlington Heights, of injuries sustained in a three- car auto accident the previous day. Mrs. Rangel was born June 10, 1916, in Texas. Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Sabas. (Maria Louisa) Mercado of McCullom Lake; one son, Denny Cavazos, of Buffalo Grove, 111.; fifteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ramon (Elena) Cordova and Mrs. Alejos (Trinidad) Mata; three brothers, Eluteria, Ausencio and Jaun. Her parents, one son and one brother preceded her in death. Visitation is being held at the George R. Justen & Son chapel. Services will be held at 11 o'clock Wednesday at the First Baptist church, with burial in Woodland cemetery. JOHN SOPOCI John Sopoci of 5228 Cleveland drive. West Shore Beach, McHenry. died Saturday, June 2, at the Highland Nursing home. Genoa City, Wis. He was 73 years old. Mr. Sopoci was born in Chicago Oct. 5, 1899. He came to this community about two years ago from Libertyville. The deceased was a retired maintenance electrician for Advance Transformer Co., Chicago. He was a retired member of Local 1031, IBEW, Chicago. His wife, Mae M. died April 4, 1973. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Sam (Esther) Thornton of LaMesa, Calif., and Mrs. Phillip (Phyllis) Luczak of Libertyville; six grandchildren one great grandchild and two brothers, Stephen of Chicago and William of DesPlaines. • A brother, Samuel, and a sister, Anna Nosko, preceded her in death. Services were conducted Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock from the Peter M. Justen & Son chapel, with burial in Woodland cemetery. Invite Public To Woodstock's Health Clinic The Family Service and Mental Health Clinic for McHenry County invites the public to the opening of its new offices in Woodstock on the second floor at 224 W. Judd street Thursday, June 7, from 2 to6 p.m. At this open house, the public service agencies and professionals will have the opportunity to tour the new facilities and meet members of the ciinic staff. Pancake Breakfast Fund Raiser For Area Boy Scouts Boy Scout Troop 260 of Island Lake will serve a pancake breakfast at St. John's Lutheran church, Rt. 176, Island Lake, Sunday, June 17. There will be serving from 7 to 8:50 a.m, and 10:30 a.m. to noon. The breakfast is a fund raising event so that the boys may purchase camping equipment, tents, cookware, etc. Tickets will be available at the door or by calling Mark Reinwall at 385-1701. The new offices will provide a full-range of the agency's services to Woodstock vicinity residents. The offices will be staffed by psychiatrists, psychologists, and psychiatric nurses. Family services, as well as services for mental and emotional problems, will be made available in these offices. Joseph Cools, M.S. clinical psychologist, is the clinic manager for the new office. Genesee street, Waukegan, at 8 a.m. Saturday June 30 and Saturday, July 7. Oral interviews by members of the Joint Apprenticeship committee will be held at a later date to be announced by JAC Chairman Don Ariano, of Ravinia Plumbing and Heating Co. Highland Park. Bolger, executive vice-president, McHenry State bank, has accepted ap pointment to the Federal Legislative committee of the Independent Bankers Association of America for the year ending March 23,1974. The association has 7,000 member banks in forty states, and the committee assignments will end with the forty-fourth an nual convention in Dallas, Texas. The IBAA president, Fred T. Brooks, president, Merchants State Bank, Dallas, announced the appointment. Service News Airman Walter J. Price, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter S. Price, 3424 Elm, McHenry, has graduated atChanute AFB, 111., from the U.S. Air Force air craft mechanic course con ducted by the Air Training command. The airman, who learned to maintain and service multi- engine jet aircraft, is being assigned to Ellsworth AFB, S.D., for duty with a unit of the Strategic Air command, America's nuclear deterrent force of long range bombers and intercontinental ballistic missiles. Airman Price was graduated in 1972 from McHenry high school. "Y" Men's Club Announces Clown Contest Winner Richard Egler, chairman of the Lake Region YMCA s Y s Men's club Circus committee, announced the winner of the "Clown for a Day" contest. The winner is Ray Krahn of 113 Heather Lane, Crystal Lake. Ray will perform with the Clyde Beatty-Cole Bros. circus when the circus comes to Crystal Lake Aug. 19. The winner also receives a one-year family membership in the YMCA. The new building will open late this summer. The two runners-up are Barb Miklica and Stephen Sprenger. They will be guests of the Y's Men club to see the circus and will each receive a youth membership in the YMCA.
