POET'S CORNER A Though About School Days (by Maria Heiser) It is now time to say good bye, to all of you. You are leaving now behind, a long year of school..... It was not always easy, like everyone should know. .. _T_ -- For some of you, this past year was probably just a show. But still you came each day, in storm, wind or rain.... Sometimes with a broken leg or arm and a lot of pain.... You listened to the teacher and raised your hand. For every question, there is an answer, this was the command. You often walked home, with books x heavy, like a sack of potatoes. --^ In winter, you froze your feet, in summer your gym shoes were too small and one could see your big old toes. You had to sit in the classroom, when snow was falling down... When Santa Claus, with all his reindeer was riding thru our wintery little town. When spring came finally around and all the flowers began to bloom, Here and there a girl and boy could be found.... and the air was filled with a different tune. But then came testing time, you felt like you were set up in a trial, every question felt like a mountain which you had to climb.... And you looked around for someone who would walk with you, this mile... But there was no one there, you had to prove, what you learned this past year. And you said to yourself "This is just not fair". And suddenly you felt a cold shiver, which was fear. One test after another, day by day... It seemed to you, like there was no end... "This is an awful price for me to pay. Is there no one, who could give me a hand". went by and Graduation came near our last paper to your teacher. loment forgotten was all your fear a»K id shiny, laid before your eyes, your future... The doors of your school are closing behind you, Your time of fear, laughter, fun and joy is ever new, this is true.... You know that the world outside is waiting for you. ie of you, this end of this school year r proud, happy and free.... i< hey still climb this mountain ai e with fear... In rit of Shakespeare the\ er this question "To be or not to Be".... In other action, the board dismissed charges that college president, Dr. James Davis, hj»d,„acted capriciously by eliminating an instructor's position for the coming school year. Adelman and Hill appeared in behalf of Mrs. Eloise Scott, coordinator of I.S.L. (individualized study lab) who had been on leave from Sept. 1, 1972, to June 3, 1973. The position had been eliminated during that time, Davis reported, because of low enrollment in "her Driver, Passenger In Car Arrested Robert Layhurst of 812 Southgate drive, McHenry, was ticketed for unsafe tires, one brake light and failure to carry proof of license plate transfer after deputies patrolling the area of Myang drive, McHenry, discovered Layhurst had been driving in a reckless manner in that subdivision. Streams from the north tend to flow black, darkened by the stain of rain forest vegetation; those from the south are filtered cieVr"by the white sandy country and pick up the sky's deep blue;v and streams from the west churn with brown silt of the Andean highlands.
