Each girl at­ tending C.irls' State is chosen because of her outstanding qualities of scholarship, sportsmanship and courage for service. The splendid cooperation of mayors throughout Illinois and all law enforcement officers to enforce local ordinances and the Illinois state law forbidding the retail sale and use of dangerous fireworks resulted in the safest and sanest Fourth of July in 1947 that Illinois has ever enjoyed. McHenry friends of George Whiting will be interested to learn of his marriage on Wednesday. June 9. in the afternoon in St. James church. Maywood. Three McHenry Girls Graduate At Bloomington Some 2.500 students received Bachelor s degree Saturday.
