(Don Peasley Photo) New Officers Conduct County- Presidents Meet The McHenry County Presidents' club held its annual meeting Monday, June 4, at the Bavaria Haus, johnsburg, with twenty-seven members present. McHenry members acted as hostesses. After lunch, the meeting was called to order by the president, Mrs. Arthur Klein. Other new ^officers are Mrs. Ray Seitz, vice-president; Mrs. Christopher Quinn, secretary; Mrs. Richard C. Bradley, treasurer; Mrs. John Powers, corresponding secretary; and Mrs. Frank Heinemann, publicity. An auction was a feature of the day, with Mrs. John Horak acting as auctioneer. Richmond ladies will host the next meeting Aug. 6, to be held at the home of Mrs. Elmer Justen, 4811 N. Pioneer road, McHenry. A picnic will be held. St. Patrick's Catholic church was the setting for a lovely wedding Saturday, June 9, uniting in marriage Miss Karen Lee Jemiola and Mr. Richard Allan Gedman. The ceremony was performed at 11 o'clock in the morning by the Rev. Father John Cahill. Miss Jemiola is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard E. Jemiola of 2810 N. Magellan, McHenry. Mr. Gedman, who resides at 406 N. Geenbay road, Waukegan, is the son of Mrs. Agnes Gedman of 920 Broad­ way, North Chicago, and the late Edward V. Gedman. Scott Curry was soloist for the ceremony, accompanied by Mrs. John Leighty. The church was decorated for the occasion with bouquets of gladioli. Acting as matron of honor was Mrs. Donna Looze, sister of the bride, who flew to McHenry from Pocatello, Idaho, for the ceremony. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Patti Frett of McHenry and Miss Mary Jo McBride of Park Forest 111. The bride was radiant in a white formal bridal ensemble fashioned of organza and Venice lace. It was designed with high neckline, full, sheer, Victorian sleeves with wide cuffs and softly gathered skirt ending in ruffles. Her cathedral length veil flowed from a Juliet cap. Both her gown and veil # were enhanced with beribboned * Venice lace. The attendants wore floral, printed, formal gowns fashioned of voile. They were designed in shades of pink and orange, with V-necklines, long sleeves and softly gathered skirts featuring self ruffles. They wore pink, lacy straw picture hats. The matron of honor's attire was trimmed in orange and the other at­ tendants in pink Edward Gedman of North Chicago served his brother as best man. Groomsmen were Kurt Kampendahl of Wauconda and Blair Subry of North Chicago. Mrs. Jemiola selected for the wedding a long, pink chiffon dress. Mrs. Gedman was at­ tired in a floor length, green crepe dress. Following the ceremony, a luncheon was served to seventy-five at the McHenry Country club. The newlyweds <* left later on an eight-day trip to Hawaii. Upon their ̂ return the young couple will make their home at 406 N. Greenbay road, Waukegan. The bride attended Northern Illinois, university, DeKalb, for two shears and is now employed .as a secretary for Park Rubber Co. Lake Zurich. Her hsuband is a graduate of Xavier university, Cincinnati Ohio. He is manager for Foremost Liquors, Waukegan. Miss Draper received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, with honors. Miss Draper attended Alverno college in Milwaukee, Wis., her first two years, after which she transferred to St. Xavier college to complete her degree. He had spent the previous week in traction in the hospital. Robert hurt his knee earning a major "M" in track to complete his freshman year at East campus. On May 19, Miss Draper was initiated into Sigma Theta Tau sorority, which is a national honor sorority for professional nurses graduating from a degree program. Jessup of St. Paul, Minn., welcomed their first child, a daughter, on Thursday, May 31. The baby, Christine Marieke, is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul S Jessup of McHenry and Mr. and Mrs. Wilhelm Friesen of The Netherlands. The mother is the former Johanna Friesen. Dr. Jessup is professor of banking and finance at the University of Minnesota.
