THINK ABOUT IT! j vfJX •Xvt BY BOB JUSTEN Independence is a day by day privilege that must be earned. It is not a concession we can take for granted. Lets not forget this is an historical significance of July 4th. In our American way of life, we have more pri vileges than any people on earth. We are privileged to worship God where and when we wish. . .privi leged to work where we choose. . .privileged to ed ucate ourselves to any degree we wish. . . .privileged to qualify for better jobs. . .privileged to seek and earn better living conditions. . .privileged to travel where and when we wish. . .privileged to express our thoughts, to agree or disagree with our fellow men. The prelude to our privileged life dates back to 10 years before the American Revolution when Patrick Henry shouted his immortal words, "Give me liberty or give me death". And ever since, our privileges have been bought and blessed with the blood and sacrifice of val iant men. As heirs of our heriorc dead, would it not be fitting and proper for all of us to bend our knees and fold our hands on July 4th - and give thanks to God for the privilege of being an American?. . .GEORGE R. JUSTEN FUNERAL HOME, 3519 W. Elm Street, McHenry, 111. Phone 385-2400.
