STAFF PHOTOS/WAYNE GAYLORD Snowmobile Drag Races Fair Feature Wintertime in July at the McHenry County Fair? No, not quite, but it's a cooling thought to know that sntwmobile drag races will be held again, on the fairgrounds, as the Sunday night, Aug. 5, grandstand at­ traction. The races will be held on the dirt track in front of the grandstand audience, and a wide variety of classes have been established to encourage Mother, Dad, and the children to enter the competition. Entry forms are available at the fair office on the fairgrounds. The office is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and it is time to file entries although the deadline is not until 3 p.m. Aug. 5. We'd appreciate entries soon so we can be sure to plan enough help and officials for the various classes," explains Everett Hunttf-, superin­ tendent. Palsy Gift To Special Education District Announced United Cerebral Palsy of Northeastern Illinois recently announced a $1,200 contribution to the Special Education District of McHenry C ounty. H. Arthur Bush, president of United Cerebral Palsy of Northeastern Illinois, stated that the contribution was in­ tended to help support the summer program for the physically and mentally handicapped sponsored by the Special Education District of McHenry County at Westwood school in Woodstock. Bush stated: "It is a pleasure to help in financing this wor­ thwhile program for the han­ dicapped children of McHenry county. The Special Education District of McHenry County has done a commendable job of serving these children, and we of United Cerebral Palsy of Northeastern Illinois are happy to be able to help in financing their summer recreation and education program for han­ dicapped children." United Cerebral Palsy of Northeastern Illinois is sup­ ported by local contributions and the Crystal Lake United fund. The races will start at 6 p.m. Aug. 5. Trophies will be awarded first, second, and third place winners* A class for Juniors will be for boys and girls 12-16 years of age. A Powder Puff class will be for women. A third major category is for stock class entries, and this is divided into five classes, depending on the power: 251- 295CC ; 396-345CC; 346-400CC; 401- 440cc; and 441-650cc. A fourth major group will be the modified class which is for the hot machines I, This year there are four classes within this category. This was a popular new addition to our fair last year and the grandstand audience loved every minute. July 31, 1973, is the last day for employers to report and pay both Social Security and withheld income taxes for the second quarter of 1973; however, they have until Aug. 10, 1973, to file their returns if they have deposited the entire quarterly tax liability on time in a Federal Reserve bank or authorized commercial bank.
