Many of the entries will compete in the Junior and-or Senior open class shows, joining the large number of entries brought to the McHenry County Fair from throughout northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin for this outstanding open show this year. The spotlight will pause periodically to highlight the beauty contest, tractor pull, snowmobile racing, antique show and harness racing, but ultimately and throughout most of the fair, the animal is king! Since McHenry county is a large dairy county, dairy shows 6p an insuf ficiency in any other of the items of appropriation made by this Ordinance. SECTION III: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication, as provided by law. George Luto VILLAGE PRESIDENT ATTEST: Karen Psrks Clerk of Village of McCullom Lake, McHenry County, Illinois PASSED: 7-24-73 APPROVED: 7-24-73 PUBLISHED: 7-27-73 will be one of the dominating areas. Open class prize money alone in dairying totals $3,312. Beef prize money totals $1,603, while sheep exhibitors can win s$l,728--to indicate a few categories. The 4-H members will be vying for ribbons and trophies- and acknowledgement of their success. 'While showing, they expect to learn by observation and by the comment of the judges. Showmanship com petition is another way these young people learn. The rate- of-gain competition among beef feeders is another good measurement of achievement. A look at the fair book em phasizes the scope and variety of livestock competition- Dairy, beef cattle, sheep and goats, horse and pony show for 4-H members, swine, poultry, rabbits, and pigeons--as a quick summary. Livestock judging begins at 9 a.m. the first day-Wednesday with the 4-H sheep judging. Judging 4-H colored breeds in dairying occupies the first afternoon Each day finds judging taking place, and Hansen pavilion is an ideal spot to hold these competitive Service News Midshipman Eric H. In ad- classes and provide a place for spectators to observe carefully. Judging most open classes in livestock starts Friday and concludes Saturday. The 4-H Livestock auction at 1 p.m. Saturday is another feature of the Livestock facet of the fair. Widespread buying supported by the public makes this a good event each year. PAGE 9-PLAINDEALER-FRIDAY, JULY 27, 1973 SUNDAY'S ISIRMON A Delicate Balance There is a delicate balance that exists throughout our universe, solar system, and planet. Through all of God's creations we can no tice the beauty and harmony of life and nature. Yet among peo ple, few of us are really well bal anced. Our balance is disrupted be cause we give little thought to where our lives fit into God's master plan. Too many of us lack purpose and meaning in our lives. Our lives are a series of hum drum and mundane experiences. Thoughts of God are buried so deeply in our hearts and minds dition there was classroom instruction in air navigation, aircraft engines and aerodynamics. About 1,200 midshipmen from fifty-five colleges and universities attended the in doctrination course. that we easily forget completely about Him. Many of us only think of God on Sunday mornings. If we really want to find peace within ourselves and meaning for our lives we must look to God for guidance and direction. Only God knows our true potential. Only He can direct us toward our proper roles. For the delicate bal ance of the universe comes from God and only with God can we find the delicate balance for our lives Dog Team J im: Why do you ca l l your dog BasebalP John: He ca tches f l ies , chases fowls , and runs for home when he sees the ca tcher coming.
