There will be games, refreshments, entertainment and prizes galore! Bring your family and friends. See you there, the river beach lot, on Sunday. NEW RESIDENTS We would like to welcome the Dennis Daley family to our area. Although they have been residents since May 1, but it's never too late to welcome newcomers. The Daleys live on Hickory Street across from the beach. Dennis and Dorothy have four children, Mark, Lisa, Michael and Denise. They formerly resided in Naperville.. Dennis is a carpenter and spends his spare time boating and fishing. Dorothy and the children spend their leisure time swimming and gardening. As anyone driving down Hickory can see, the Daleys have one of the best looking gardens in the area. We hope the Daleys will enjoy many, many happy years in our area. FAMILY VISIT Bill and Pat Bruyn of Poplar Street have been enjoying a visit from Bill's parents, Bill, Sr., and Ruth Bruyn of Mesa, Ariz. The Senior Bruyns have spent the past few weeks visiting with Bill, Pat and their two grandchildren, Billy and Beth. They also have been making the rounds visiting relatives in the area. They also are taking a trip to Wisconsin to visit their other son and his family and a brother he hadn't seen in twelve years. The elder Bruyns will return for another short visit before they make their long journey back to Arizona. BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT If you had noticed all the smiling faces on Cedar Street lately, it may be due to the arrival of Michelle Andrea Novak on Tuesday, June 26. Michelle was born with lots of black hair much to the delight of her parents, Erna and Mike Novak. Michelle was born in Condell Memorial Hospital in Mundelein. Michelle shares her parents affection with her sisters and brothers, Janice, 15 years, Tom/9, and Michael, Jr., 8. The only grandparent in the family is Adele Novak of Phoenix, Ariz. Welcome to the world, Michelle! ATTEND COUNTY FAIR Numerous members of the Kottke clan assembled at the Lake County Fair on Sunday. July 29. Larry and Sharon Kottke and their children, Laura and Chris, were there. Also my husband, Jim, and our four offspring, Ricky, Jimmy, Denise and Kristena. The families congregated on Uncle Irv Kottke's flatbed truck to watch the tracor pulling con test. Danny Kottke, Irv's son, entered his tractor into the small mower class and came away with fifth place. The younger children spent the day on the rides and side attractions at the fair. Everyone had a grand time. After the fair, Larry, Sharon, Uncle Irv, Aunt Rose, and Jim (who was elected to chauffeur the kids around) went.to a restaurant for a pizza and movies. It was a fun filled day for everyone. Since children never run out of energy, they were ready to go again the next day, but we "old folks" needed the next day to rest. HOUSE GUESTS Mr. and Mrs. Harvey R. Beth of Holiday Drive had a house guest for a week in July. Mr. Beth's sister, Mrs. Henry Hartmann of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., visited them from July 17 through 24. They all had a very enjoyable time, but the visit was all too short. GET WELL WISHES We wish to express a get-well greeting to Harvey Beth who underwent surgery at Wood stock hospital on Monday, July 30.
