OUTDOOR WEDDING CEREMONY An event which will be forever remembered by Michael Lee Krueger and his bride, the former Carol Lacey, took place Saturday, August 4, on Christmas Island on Long Lake in Ingleside. The event was their outdoor wedding ceremony. The Catholic ceremony was officiated by a local priest. Approximately one hundred family and out- of town guests attended. The ceremony was followed by a reception at the Generation Gap in Round Lake. The parents of the groom, Marge and Earl Krueger, of Tower Drive, will long remember the perfect weather provided for their son's wedding. The Kruegers have another exciting event upcoming on Aug. 25'. This is the day that their daughter, Christine, will wed Walter Glus of Lakemoor. Best of luck Michael and Carol and Christine and Walter! WISCONSIN VACATION The Robert Kellens of Tower Drive recently returned from an all too short vacation in St. Germaine, Wis. They stayed at a resort on the Little St. Ger­ maine Lake. Their cabin was located right on the beach, which was ideal for their children. Tommy and Jeanne. Bonnie's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cook of Evanston, and her Aunt and Uncle, Mr. arid Mrs Ray Kinsey also of Evanston, rented a cabin nearby. Everyone had a wonderful time swimming, skiing, boating and fishing. Sister Mary St. Hilda, who lived in McHenry in her youth, is now retired and resides at the Mount Carmel Mother House in» Dubuque, Iowa. A Mass in her honor will be sung at St. Patrick's Catholic church at 12:15 on the an­ niversary date. An open house will be held from 3 to 5:30 that afternoon in the church hall. Rabies is a disease caused by a virus that is transmitted by a rabid animal to other animals, or to humans, through the saliva. In most instances, rabies is contracted as the result of being actually bitten by a rabid animal. Contrary to general opinion, the animal responsible for transmitting rabies is not necessarily a dog - any rabid animals, whether rabbit, cat, squirrel, or rat, can transmit the virus. It is only because of the close association between dog and man that the dog is most often incriminated. In rabies, the period of in­ cubation can be anywhere from three weeks to six months. When the symptoms appear, they usually last for three to six days, after which general paralysis sets in and the animal dies. Without exception, rabies is a terminal disease. And unless the preventive rabies vaccines are used, no warm­ blooded animal, from birth to old age, is immune. STRAY DOGS (for adoption) Staying at 338-2964 is a mother Collie mix and her 8 pups. Kittens are 8 weeks old, three are butterscotch and white and one is gray with white. A male all gray kitten, long hair, 6 weeks old, is at 385-2478. He's a real little powder puff. A male kitten, 7-8 weeks old, Tortoiseshell with white bib and white front paws, had distemper shot. 459-3848.
