Church Plans For Rally Day A "Rally Day" has been planned at Shepherd Of The Hills Lutheran Church, 404 North Green St., McHenry, for Sunday, September 9, at both the 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. worship services. Rally Day is the day scheduled by the church school for all students from age 3 through adults to register for their classes for the coming year. It also marks the first Sunday in the year's perfect attendance program sponsored by the school. Superintendent Randy Swikle has announced that a special feature of this year's "Rally Day" will be a helium balloon race. Each student will sign his name to a postcard attached to a helium balloon. The balloons will be released and the per- the only deals we miss are the ones we son's balloon which travels the most miles will receive a prize. The postcards will be self- addressed to the church to insure their return. In preparation for the largest church school the parish has ever hosted additional classroom space has been built by the men of the church under the supervision of property co- chairmen Gene Honning and Robert Finkbeiner. Additional staff members have also been added to the school's roster to teach the additional classes. Part of the day's activities will also include the annual church picnic to be held at the VFW grounds in McHenry from 12:30 p.m. through 6 p.m. Harold Kivley, the president of the congregation, indicated that games and prizes have been prepared for all age levels after the usual fine meal prepared by the women of the church.
